What should we do?

Unlike most of the threads that I start, with this one I am not proposing anything we should do. I have not come to a conclusion. I am just trying to get a better perspective by reading what other people have to say.

Hm. Though this may sound bad...I never really get disturbed over things like this. Whatever is going to happen will happen. Therefore my worrying doesn't change the matter, only my mental and emotional state.

Not sure what to do, but worrying/panicking isn't something I'm going to do.

They're touting their missiles like they have some enormous power, and the media eats it up, but people don't realize they're from like WWII.

There's really nothing to be worried about.

Just ignore it and it'll go away. But don't ignore it and keep a close eye on them...you know, just in case. Besides what makes them think that they can take on the USA? They're pathetic if you ask me.

I think we should point and laugh at them.

It's pretty much a larger scale version of the Soviet Scud missile.
They can't even launch a damn satellite, there's no way they can "obliterate the US".
The longest range missile they have is the Taepodong-1 which has a maximum range of 2500km(1533miles)... they barely would even be able to reach the Bering Strait between Alaska and Russia with that.

It's an empty threat, IMO. (The headline is a little misleading, isn't it?)

I live in South Korea now, and I asked various people what they think about the North. They said no one in the South takes them seriously.

That's a flat out stupid thing for one nuclear armed country to say to another. As if we didn't have the potential to do the same to them?

In the long run, this is what it boils down to:

North Korea:
Missiles.
More missiles.

U.S.A
Airforce
Superior Navy
Special Forces
Better Missiles
Better everything else.

Oh, and we ought to sink one of their navy ships with our new railguns. See how they like that.

North Korea is just a bunch of noobs anyway, lol.

I am not worried that they can beat us militarily or that they can actually wipe out our whole country. They are boasting far beyond what they can do, but their boasting still suggests the potential for much lower scale tragedy. I am just worried that they might use their nukes to blow up an American city or more than one. They might do it via Al Qaeda or somebody. Then again, the North Korean government knows that if we ever found out they were behind a nuclear attack on us that they would no longer be in power. We would overthrow them and build a democratic government in a hurry. We did it to two other countries this decade, and Kim Jong Il and his thugs know that. They probably won't do anything, but this is the sort of issue where we can't just speculate that nothing will happen.

I've heard it, and I don't comprehend it. My brain can't register those words. In fact, I don't even register North Korea. I look at Kim Jong-il, I don't even see something human. And I'm not just trying to be silly here, I see his face and I see a damn alien. I see the North Koreans worship his name with fear in their eyes.

What troubles me even more is, that some people think the answer is for us to nuke North Korea before they nuke us.

Because North Korea is a threat. Because North Korea is scary. Because North Korea pisses you off.

When that's the same exact mentality Kim Jong-il has.

The problem isn't the solution.

Their not a threat and they said they would only do it if we start a war. We don't start a war and we ignore it and there isn't any problems caused by this at all.

Not to mention if North Korea tried to bomb us, I'm sure the United Nations would get on them...


Not to mention everyone else who is in alliance with the US.

The US owes China over $2 Trillion. There's no way that they're going to let their loudmouthed little cousin fuck with us, cuz if they do, and we have to go to war, it will be 1) Waaaay too close for comfort for the Chinese, and 2) likely to be paid for with whatever is left of the US currency that they were hoping we'd pay THEM back with.

There's no real problem here. Jong-Il just knows that thumbing his nose at the biggest dog makes him cool with other retard dictators. Like Amajenanoboriggabada non, or whatever his name is.
