Bird A and Bird B are talking on a fence.

A: Can you give me directions to the NY times?
B: No
A: Why not?
B: I dont know where it is.
A: How about the washington post?
B: Nope
A: LA times?
B: Sorry. Never heard of any of them.
A: Thats impossible. How many channels are on your TV?
B: Don't have one
A: What about a cell phone?
B: No
A: Ipod?
B: No
A: Wait, if you don't know what those are, and you havent heard of any of those newspapers, then what lines the bottom of your cage?
B: ...What's a cage?

its kind of a throwback to Adam and Eve. With the knowledge of good and evil comes responsibility and personal accountability. Neither of the birds is better than the other, yet one can have a material, circumspect world, while the other can be free from materialism and greed without even knowing it.

I did hear the story from someone else if that is what you're getting at. I dont know where it came from though.

What I want to know is, what happens to the second bird when it gets swine flu?

I don't get it, what's the point of this thread. Is this supposed to be some kind of koan or something? I can imagine a few possible "morals" of this, but I'd rather have it explained.
