YEs, many animals do live long enough to have many litters. But eventually it is more effecient to die. Maybe it won't be that way forever as evolution continues. And I agree that Nature is not a person or god but for ease of communication I said it that way. I know that it is just an impersonal process of natural selection. |

Leprosy is caused by a bacteria I believe. The vast majority of people are immune to that bacteria, and some forms of it really isn't contagious at all. If you get treatment for it, then it stops being contagious all together. |

I am not too worried about catching leprosy. I have gotten a vaccination for tetanus a few years ago when I cut my leg open in Hawaii when the garbage bag I was carrying broke and a broken dirty plate was in there slashed my leg open. That was a mess. I had to get stitches and I couldn't swim in the ocean for a few days. |
