Okay, wow that was kind of a confusing question. |

I was thinkinging, is it possible for the later periods of REM sleep to "link" together, so say that you end a period of REM, then "fall asleep" in that dream. Go through NREM sleep, then "wake up" into the dream you were having before but in a new REM cycle? |

They say dreaming is dead, no one does it anymore.
It's not dead it's just that it's been forgotten, removed from our language.
Nobody teaches it so nobody knows it exists.
The dreamer is banished to obscurity.
Well, I'm trying to change all that, and I hope you are too.
By dreaming, every day.

sorry for the confusing question, i'll try rephrase it. As far as i know their are two kinds of sleep- REM and NREM. Most if not all dreams occur during REM, with NREM been a time when previous dreams are "deleted" in a sense. What i am wondering is- Can Dreams link together so instead of having several dreams through out the night lasting say 40 mins, you could have one dream lasting the whole night with gaps in between . |

sounds hard. you would have to be very adept at serial dreaming. |

I had lots of continuation dreams. I've had dreams that aren't necessarily recurring - they just happen to pick up where I left off the night before. Personally, it's usually very enjoyable |

so you are talking about falling asleep within a dream (and during the time you are asleep in the dream you are transitioning sleep cycles) then waking back up within the same dream? sounds cool. im not sure if you can control that.. actually, you might be able to apply the same principle as a WILD. you could keep your dreaming conciseness constant during the transition. if thats even possible. just a theory. i like this idea. never heard of it. |
