Attempt to make my dreams more vivid/clear while lucid...need help

I had a dream set in the night, and here's the part about my attempt to make things clearer:

'I decide to try to make the dream more vivid and use the voice command ‘increase clarity’. Suddenly a line, a non straight line, kind of like a random static line that runs across your TV screen runs across my field, my screen, of vision. As it runs from the left to the right, I notice that my field of vision that is to the left of the line becomes more sharper, more clearer, than the right. Nevertheless, it’s not totally like real life, but at least it was an important. Should’ve rubbed my hands, to be honest.'

Wondering, should I have rubbed my hands instead? All my dreams seem to lack enough lucidity...

I guess you could have rubbed your hands, there are many things you can do once you are in a lucid dream to increase clarity. You could try to smell things, hear things, rub your hands together like you said, Even just try to imagine all the objects around you and their colors will eventually bring everything to be more vivid.
