Waking life thoughts appearing in dreams

Hi! I just wanted to explain how the thoughts and things I experience during the day enter my dreams in order to know if it happens to you like this too.

It is well known that dreams are based on what you experienced during the day.
What I have noticed is that very often it's not what I experienced the same day but what I experienced 2 or 3 days ago which appears in my dreams.
I think it would be easier to recognize dream signs if my dreams were about the experiences I had that day rather than experiences related to more remote days.

Is it the same for you?

Absolutely. Day residue rarely lives up to its name... They should call it "week residue." The stuff from which the dreaming mind draws cares little about time or calendar entries; if it was recent, it counts!

It is surprising how often the day's events have an influence on my dreams, but not previous days'.

So it depends on the person I guess. Or maybe it's just a mix of the day's events and more remote events^^

I used to be able to dream about the thoughts that's bugging me everyday. It's the same thought though, that one person that enters my dream everyday to remind me how much I miss that person.

It kind of works differently for me. I tend to dream about things that are going to happen rather than events that have already happened.

Why not play the lottery during a lucid dream, and win it? Then play the same numbers IRL.

I found very interesting that idea of "week residues".

For me it happens the same. My dreams are majorly about things that happened during the day or even two or three days before. I think it's something normal because our thoughts are most of the times our problems and concerns about life. So, if we dream about thoughts, it's like if our subconscious collects ideas about a topic and then when it's enough full, it shows off in a dream.

For example, before the beginning of Holidays I was worried about my maths grade. Not that I'm bad at maths but that final test was not what I expected. One idea. Then, I decided that I would study everyday in the morning. Second idea. And finally, on the day before I was watching the exercise book of a friend of mine who has a different math area. Third idea.
It isn't curious that today I had a dream with the three ideas related? In terms of time, they are all spaced in different days. So, it's really like a "week residue" Some people's subsconscious clean the thoughts dairly, other's collect ideas and then clean everything.

Suffice it to say that the dreaming mind has a real bad sense of time!

Yea, I get the same thing. I focus and try hard to think about a particular thing to dream about, then dream about some random thought that occurred during the day.
