      Supplements and Herbs for Dreams

I've been reading about some dream herbs and dream supplements.

      Specifically:

      1.) C. Zacatechichi
Apparently the "Dream-Herb"... Supposed to encourage vivid dreams and increase the chances of lucidity. I've done some reading on this one, and I've noticed people complaining about sleep paralysis and false awakenings when trying it, and that the tea and smoking of the herb sucks... I would probably just make it into a pill or something. Still interested in trying it.

      2.) Vitamin B-6
I read somewhere that you need to take a ridiculously high amount of b-6 for it to have an effect. If that's the case, I don't really want to mess with it.

      3.) Ginko Biloba
Is supposed to increase brain function and improve the vividness of dreams.

      4.) Melatonin
I know that this is a sleep aid, and the hormone that we produce to sleep, so I can understand a connection there.

I've not got any of these supplements right now, but I'll come into a little money and I may try to buy a few of them (mainly C. Zachawakawhatever, Ginko and Melatonin). But right now I'm going to do some experiments with calms forte and a benzodiazepine called "Temazepam". I remember Temazepam having an effect on my dreams before, now that I keep a dream journal I can experiment more effectively.

The interest in any Benzo or Calms Forte is because of the ability they have to calm me down and help me attempy WILDs. Since my brain is too wild to WILD.

If any of you have any experience with herbs or supplements aiding your dreams, I ask that you share your knowledge with me to aid me in my research.

I've used "Brilliant Dreams" (the pill) before. I wanted to see if they actually helped or not. Unfortunately, I didn't have any lucid dreams while using them. However, I was able to recall dreams in much greater detail than I was prior to using them. I've also been using a dream journal for quite some time now and there's a significant difference in the detail and length of each entry. I'd love to use them more often, although, they are a bit expensive to use on a regular basis, unfortunately. I'm looking for a cheaper alternative.

Thank you DreamViews forum for discarding my entire reply because it contained a link. Very cool. Anyways.. Thanks for the feedback Ethryx. I'll probably refrain from using things specifically designed for dreaming, due to exactly that problem: Pricing.

But I'll be experimenting with Ginko Biloba and Melatonin for sure.

Last night's experiment with Calms Forte proved to be a success. I remembered three different dreams (a lot of time I remember 0 dreams), and I achieved lucidity at some point during the night.

to get to the dream journal entry with my report on my experience with Calms Forte
