Why am I black in recent dreams?

So, in the real world, I am a tall and skinny, Caucasian male. White as can be, really. Though in my most recent dreams, it would seem that I have not only packed on a good mass of muscle on my chest and arms, but my pigment of skin has become... darker. Literally, I'm black in my recent dreams. I can't pinpoint why, as I am black in different circumstances, and none of them are ever the same. My most recent one, where I was in summer school, I was showing off a third nipple that I had, and I was black there. Two nights before, I was at a theme park, waiting for a bus. Guess what? I was black there, too. I am not a racist (far from it!), so can someone enlighten me on why this might be occurring?

How do you perceive yourself when you are black, or how do you perceive black people? Do you feel strong, proud, full of achievement? Do you feel looked down upon or scared? Is this how you want people to perceive you? Even if you aren't racist, your perception of people could just be what you know of their history or how you feel around them. You take this and project it onto yourself.

Or it could be a reflection of a past life, if you believe that. :]

That is something I should consider doing!

Though, really, I wouldn't say I feel any different than I do when I'm supposedly white in my dreams--pretty neutral. Not too bad, not too good. Honestly, I love black people, the only reason why I don't have more black friends is because I live in a predominantly white and Asian area. I'll do some checking out on this though, see what it all means.

Being black isn't all that bad, I'm black. in your subconcious mind you probably want to be black.

PeaceChild, maybe this is your subconscious mind wanting to branch out and meet new people?
Or since you seem to imply that your black counterpart is almost a total polar opposite of who you are in real life, maybe you want to be more outgoing?
Are you more reticent in your waking life?

I certainly wouldn't mind being black at the slightest!

Other than that, you might have something there JenTheStrange. I'm quite shy and quiet in the real world, so that would make quite a good amount of sense if that was so the reason. Still, I haven't had a dream where I was black for two nights. Maybe it was just a random bout? I'll just have to wait and see.

Even though in your dreams you tend to be black or white - the meaning of dreams is not black and white - there are so many grey areas. Who knows what it means, Yknow?
