I was snoozing on the sofa on a sunny afternoon. That kind of half and half state where you are aware that your thoughts are turning into dreams and the images take on their own story.
In my dream, I was unsure whether I had fell asleep with a cup of coffee in my hand. So I wanted to wake myself up, but was struggling, because the sleep was so nice. I decided (in the dream) rather than wake myself up, I could bring the drink to my lips and take a sip, and find out this way. I did this and tasted the coffee, I could actually feel the cup on my lips and the taste the coffee and feel it's warmth in my mouth.
It was then I decided to wake myself up (thinking I really had a cup of coffee in my hands which could spill at any moment). I did wake myself up, which suggests it might have been a lucid dream, in that I knew I was sleeping.
But when I awoke, there was no cup of coffee, so I was dreaming.
My questions is this, because I made a concious decision to take a sip of the coffee and then wake myself up, would this count as a lucid dream?
