Real feelings for a dream character

I'm not going to bore you with my dream form last night, so I'll just ask this: is it possible to develop real feelings for a dream character? I've just woken up, so it feels very strong, will it go away later?

Hmm I dunno, but I personally think that since your dreams are a facet of your subconscious, that strong emotion you feel for a dream character might already exist in real life, towards a real person. And perhaps it is being displaced in your dreams through a random dream character. It could also be possible that in your dream, you are unconsciously associating your ideals into the character, causing you to feel attracted to it, since it now has the characteristics you want it to have. Sort of like a fantasy.

Hopefully it fades away over time. I suppose it would be a bit awkward developing feelings for a dream character. x) Just remember that it is a dream character, and a creation of your own mind. If you keep that in mind, I think you'll be alright

Also, remember that when we dream, our emotions are more uninhibited, so we feel more intensely. When you wake up, the lingering emotions can be exhausting, but it's quite normal. :3
      Good luck!

Maybe it's a dream and if I scream, it will burst at the seams.

      This.

Also, you need to learn how to better control your dreams if you're afraid that will affect your life one way or another.

This reminds me when i dreamt the perfect pet, he would always be in my dreams somewhere in the background or beside me when im walking around.
It was like Aaslan from Narina, he could talk and was really strong also gave me advice (i guess i was giving myself advice cause its a dream) but one day in my dreams he just stopped showing up and when i would wake up i'd be pretty sad but sometimes he appears in my dreams. My dreams feel incomplete without him

The feelings are real, even though the DC is not. I'd just look forward to your dreams, and keep searching for the same feelings in real life.

I dreamt last night I met someone, I was instantly attracted to them and them to me. I even remember thinking, I'm not going to rush this because I don't want to fuck it up! When I woke up the feelings were still very strong, all I wanted to do was to be able to be back in there company.

A quick update... after about three days, I completely forgot about that dream character. Can't even remember her face anymore. I guess it just felt like real, strong feelings because it was still very recent.

When I dream about someone I'm in love no matter if it's a good or a bad dream it influences my whole day. Often it's a bad dream and I could stay in bed the whole day just to cry or even die but that really strong feelings that appear throughout the dream and right after waking up will go go down to a decent level after 30 minutes to 1h or so.
I think it's nothing you should worry about since the feelings are real just not for that particular character.

      Hahaha thanks!

But yeah, I agree with most all of the replies on this thread. I miss the feeling that lingered when I woke up, it did feel like I had fallen in love overnight and it was nice, but now it's just gone, so I'm guessing that, when I woke up, I felt happy because of that "recently fell in love" feeling, but the dream character wasn't important, just a symbol/figure.
