      Very Strange Experience

Hello everyone, while dreaming last night, I was in a position of extreme stress. I was hiding away from someone or something, but I was not scared at all. I was actually perfectly calm, even though in real life I am positive I would be very scared if I were in a situation like this. Does anybody know why? Does your dream self react to situations differently than your waking self?

I suppose our dream selves know better. I often get really scary dreams filled with fears I have irl, but weirdly, I don't seem to be scared at all once they're in the dream. Just recently in a lucid that girl from The Ring showed up and attacked me, but I never felt scared. These are true to both my lucids and nonlucids.

I'm not sure why that could be, but I'm guessing my subconscious knows it doesn't really pose a threat and can't hurt me, so I don't feel scared.

Maybe it's a dream and if I scream, it will burst at the seams.

Interesting thought, I suppose that makes sense. I guess my subconscious knows better than to freak out over nothing. But in that case, why would I be running instead of standing my ground? Hmm, I'm gonna have to think about that one.

It's a dream. It doesn't allways go by any rules. Crazy stuff happens.
