      weird hard to explain dreams

I've had the same type of dreams for as long as I can remember but I can never explain it.everyone looks at me like I'm crazy. It starts like a normal dream then slowly it turns almost into 3d.. I know I'm dreaming when I get this and I am able to wake myself but I can't go back to sleep because these dreams make me feel uneasy. It turns out to be 3d and there's always some sort of object, like a shape, that turns bigger and bigger and I get surrounded and I can feel the object also.. Like I said, its real hard to explain. These dreams feel and look 3d and I can feel the object in the dreams and I'm able to wake myself but I can't fall asleep after because those dreams always start where I left off. I wake up and feel sort of detached from myself, like part of me is stuck in that dream. The only way to get rid of that feeling is to get up walk around and not fall asleep. These dreams cone to me every so often and I don't know what they are called. Please somebody help.

Well, i am kinda new to lucid dreaming and paying attention to my dreams in general, but i always dream in "3D". It sounds to me like you are not very aware when you dream, and the whole 2D to 3D switch might be you gaining awareness and start noticing the detailed dreamscape. As for the "object" i really don't know what it could mean, but maybe you should try exploring the dream and ask what it means if you become lucid.

Were you lucid in this dream or was it just a normal dream? I know you said: "I know i'm dreaming when i get this", but just to be clear.

I'm with Buhl on this one. As for feeling stuck in the dream even after you wake up, well it's quite normal. In dreams, emotions tend to be uninhibited so we tend to feel more intensely. When we wake up, some of those strong emotions can still linger for a few minutes, and that's alright.

Maybe it's a dream and if I scream, it will burst at the seams.

I'm afraid I can not help you. I had some weird dreams, but they go away after a while... Like a couple weeks or so..
