Nightmare about a black hole

I just had a really realistic and scary dream and I had to post about it because I don't think I've ever had a dream scare me more than this.

In the dream I was lying in my bed listening to music. It was some kind of really happy electronic or trance music. When I turned off the music and put away my phone, I started to sink slowly into the mattress as if I was getting heavier. When this happened I sat up in my bed trying to figure out what was going on. I looked around the room and it seemed like everything started to zoom out like the room was getting bigger. Then I felt this really strong scared/dreading feeling. As I was panicking and looking around, I saw this black thing start to form on the floor by the side of my bed. It took on the shape of a cat and I started shaking uncontrollably. It started to suck me in by controlling my reflexes. Before it fully sucked me in I was sort of in a semi awake state, but I couldn't move.

I don't have any cats and the way it felt like it was controlling my reflexes was intense. What do you think?

It seems like you had a false awakening. It's a dream where you think you woke up, but you didn't really. It usually takes place in your bedroom since it's the last place you see before bed, and the mind recreates that setting. When you actually woke up and couldn't move, that could have been sleep paralysis. Were you completely/very much immobilized?

Also, just wondering, while all of that was happening, did you know it was a dream at all?
