Thought I'd share this dream, my most interesting dreams tend to be my nightmares so I think I'll start sharing them. This one's just a bad dream I had last night. Nightmare for me is much worse, night terror is a whole nother scale.
So I was in my Grandfather's garage working on something with his tools. I normally do this and nothing felt out of the ordinary. However I needed to get something from his house which is now empty because he moved into a rest home. Thinking I could just pop in and grab it I did. I made it all the way to the lounge and got what I needed but something very odd happened when started walking back.
Some of you might have experienced a head rush before? But I get them more often that most people and generally when I've been lying down and then I stand up. My vision fills with lots of colors and my head feels like it's been hit with a hammer. Quite painful experience really.
Anyway I started walking back to the garage and I got the biggest head rush I've ever had. One side of my head felt like it was being crushed on the inside, like there was this massive build up of pressure. My whole body started collapsing and I was on all fours just trying to hold myself up. It was very painful which is unusual for a dream.
I realized that no one knew I was there and that if this was life threatening it would be a long time before anyone realized. So I went from damage control to survival mode and picked up all the energy I had to just start walking. It was really hard and the head hurt terribly.
I kinda stumbled down the hallway from the lounge and made it out of the house thinking at least if I collapsed unconscious people would see me outside and get help. Thankfully the pain stopped a bit but my whole body was numb and I couldn't really feel what I was doing. I stumbled back into our house and tried to talk to my mother but I couldn't because my tongue was numb. She just stared at me trying to work out what was wrong. I thought I'd had a stroke because one side of my body was really bad and the other was just quite bad.
What then became my problem was that my tongue was swelling. That's very dangerous because when you're tongue swells you can suffocate. Very quickly my tongue couldn't be used and I could only breathe with my nose. I'd imagine this is from real memories of mine when this did actually happen to my tongue. I was given ceclor, a medicine that I was allergic too and my whole body reacted. In fact I'm lucky to be alive, thank god I don't remember much. Just remember feeling like crying while I had to suck on iceblocks to keep the swelling down and everyone was scared.
Anyway, I woke up after that I felt just fine. It was strange because that signaled that any pain and discomfort was created by my brain and I my real body was in no kind of anguish. Very strange dream.
I would describe it as probably one of my most physically painful and distorted dreams yet feelings of terror were minimal. When in you're in survival mode you're not scared, just thinking purely instinctively.
Happened in the late hours of the morning. I stay up late and sleep late. Shows an interesting potential for pain and discomfort in dreams. I believe the quote is "Your mind makes it real."
