I'm guessing this is hypnagogic imagery, but it's not a hallucination, leastaways not in the way like "oh god there's a person at the end of my bed". It's just behind my eyelids.

Before I fall asleep in my head I get these flashes of pictures, but sometimes I see a point of light. I try not to focus on it anymore, but it's kind of hard not to when everything else is super dark. The light is pure white and grows until it is all I can see, and it's hot like the sun. It actually sort of burns my eyes like the sun does if I stare at it for too long. It hurts so much and is so bright that I wake up.

Does anyone experience this, and what exactly is it? How can I make it stop?
