Make a record of each day, similar to a dream journal, but instead of recording dreams, you record important details that occurred throughout the day. Over the course of a few days, this basically guarantees improved dream recall and vivid dreams. In addition to this, some people have reported that this causes them to wake up after each of their REM periods, allowing you to record the dreams from each period of dreaming, opposed to only being able to record the dreams from your last period of dreaming when you wake up in the morning. (Note: this is because after each REM period your brain tends to "clear" the memory of the dreams from the previous REM period.)
