common dream but with a twist...interpretations please

Hi everyone, To cut a long story short I had a dream about an ex boyfriend last night. I haven't been with this man for over 8 years and although he was my first boyfriend there is no feelings still there or anything. I can't remember the dream exactly but i remember lying in bed next to him with his arm around me in my old room from my I was child (way before I met him). Whilst lying there I knew he wasn't who I wanted to be with. Coincidently I ended the relationship (in real-life) after realising that I didn't want to be with him; he was confused and angry at the time mainly because he thought I didn't have it in me to do it. although i have been on lots of dates I haven't called anyway my boyfriend since him because i won't settle unless it's forever, so to speak. I think it is strange that he was in my dream as appose to someone who i have had a strong connection with. what is everyone's take on this please?
