Nightmares turned adventures

I've had a lot of recurring nightmares but it seems that ever since I started keeping a dream journal some things changed... I don't feel the intense fear for one and I seem to find A way out of whatever nightmarish situation I find myself in.

One example is of a nightmare turned LD I had a little while ago where I was being chased through a forest by Freddy Kruger (other times I'd be in my house or he'd appear in the backseat of the car) except I realised I was dreaming this time and so having played the new Mortal Kombat recently I used telekinesis to do Ermac's Fatality on him. Then I kinda floated off as happy as could be.

Has anyone else out there noticed changes in their dreams since they began keeping a dream journal?

yes ive noticed changes sometimes it may be that were thinking about dreams more now so are more aware

I remember when I first got into LD twenty years ago, I got to the point where I actually looked forward to nightmares as springboards into LD.

It's funny though because for me not all of my 'would-be-nightmares' are necessarily lucid. Only when I write them in to my dream journal later am I like "Haha that usually goes a lot worse"
