I need help with my dream recall.

I'm making this because my dream recall is pretty weird. I can remember this one dream when I was like 7. But lately I can't recall my dreams well at all. It's driving me crazy. How can I improve my dream recall?

As you get up and move around in the morning and start presenting yourself with more and more waking sensory stimulation, your dreams will become harder and harder to recall. A common technique is to lie still as soon as you wake up, with your eyes shut. Focus your mind on your dreams, any little inkling you can recall, any situation, thought, feeling or emotion related to the dream, and this will often draw out a memory of much more of the dream. That's just one thing you can do, prospective memory works wonders as well (I believe this approach is discussed in EWOLD if I recall correctly).

I agree with Supernova. You could also do some WBTB or WSIB. They helped me a lot to improve my dream recall. I usually set my alarm twice or more every night just to write down my dreams (you don't necessarily have to stay up for 20 minutes or more). You can also just stay in bed, try to remember your dreams and then write them down as detailed as possible And you shouldn't lose your confidence! Tell youself something like 'The next time I wake up I will remember my dreams' and just repeat this a few times per day and especially right before falling asleep. This also helps. The more dreams you write down in your dream journal the more familiar you will become with them which also makes it easier to recall them. Good luck and nice dreams!
