Does anyone know what this might be?

This is really hard to put into words so please bare with me.

Ok, so I have recently moved countries and am back in my hometown, and it seems that ever since the move, I have been able to control my SP a lot better, the problem now however is something entirely new. I have had SP since the age of 5, and I am used to it, and have an explanation for it what I don't understand is this:

The last two weeks, and every time I fall asleep or rather, fall into a trance just before I sleep, I enter a world which doesn't seem to be controlled by me, but by some other entities entirely. It does not feel like Astral Projection nor dreaming exactly, because I am awake and I am not, I physically move around in bed, I open my eyes and the moment I stand still the events continue.
The other night, I was told that in order for me to heal (except I don't know if the healing itself was for me), I had to live through a series of dream events, and watch them play in full cycle.

I don't remember the dreams exactly, I just remember a lot of people talking/arguing and just faces in general, none which I recognize. To top it off, the moment I am about to fall asleep, I start to smell things, like burning, or metal or rotten water, and I physically get up to track the smell and it disappears a few seconds later.

I know the difference between SP and AT and it does not feel like either of those. I have 24yrs experience, and have been visited by a number of people and creatures, and have had my fare share of fully aware OBEs or almost OBE's (I always chicken out), I've even entered different dimensions during an SP episode.

      But this...this is entirely new.

One more thing to mention, is that I have a pretty awesome series of epic dreams, which I've written down, of course there are bits and pieces missing, but it seems that the story has some type of flow. It takes off where I left it, but because of how the dreamworld works, I am not able to remember all of them, and of course there are some random ones. So I can't help but feel that maybe, if it is even possible...I travel to a world where they know me? wait for me? As if we are on a constant mission.

These last two weeks have been entirely exhausting though. I get up every morning and feel as if I slept a for a few minutes.
Is it possible to bring dreams into the physical world?
      What is this?
      Any ideas?
      Help! lol

      Thanks in advance.

I don't want to scare you, but instantly falling into REM sleep or heightened states of sleep paralysis could mean you have a form of narcolepsy, which is a pretty serious sleep disorder. Especially how you say you only feel like you sleep a few minutes.

That aside, what you're describing is essentially lucid dreaming. Somehow (possibly narcolepsy), you are very perceptive to WILD lucid dreaming, meaning you can go from being awake, to entering a dream-like state and knowing it. This could be a blessing! All of the things you are smelling are most certainly sleep paralysis. I often smell buttery popcorn when I have occasional SP. I believe when you start seeing faces and such, you are semi-lucid. You are aware of the dream, and aware something is wrong or strange, but you lack the strength to take over from there.

I would do some reading on entering lucid dreams from sleep paralysis, and I would bet that you could turn these strange smells and encounters into full on lucids.

As for pulling dreams into the physical world... Nah.

Thanks so much for your reply Raven, it really does help clarify a few things! I will check into the narcolepsy although I somehow doubt it. As for the smells..its the first time I experience them during SP its usually sounds and feelings and visions but never smells.
