when I am seeing a vast landscape or looking long distances in a dream i notice that often times the horizon line is way above where it should be. Sometimes this effect is a dream sign for me.

I wonder if this is because my brain doesn't calculate the curvature of the earth much like it has trouble linking lights witches to lights,

Or

I was also thinking that because our brain knows we can see farther from a higher elevation it exercises some kind of artistic license by combining an elevated view with a ground level view to justify seeing farther or in more detail. This theory suggests this effect is just a side effect of the brain doing its best to create realism.

Or

I was thinking this is a deliberate distortion to give the effect that you are in a vast, new, perhaps undiscovered territory. Maybe that the actual planet or at least your perception of it is much bigger. In other words the dream horizon line is actually accurate and the world itself is much larger.

Does anyone else experience this phenomenon? I assume its common because I sometimes see this in movies or dreamscape paintings. In movies, the bending of the horizon usually indicates being in a false reality.
