It's not uncommon for recovering addicts to dream about the very thing they're trying to abstain from. Usually the dream presents the substance in either an inciting manner, or a stressful one. It's not too different from a nightmare, where something that causes you to be anxious and fearful finds its way into your dreams. In this case, it's more around stress.
It's cliche, but it's important that you understand what the things you encounter mean to you. For example, a certain animal may mean something negative in general in dreams, but it could have a positive meaning to a person who say, has it as a pet. From here on, I'm just making assumptions about what these things will represent to you.
You said you had great pride in your plants. That tends to be the polar opposite feeling from people dependent on a substance. They feel either a little shameful on their worst days, or that they're not exactly role models on their best. I'm not just making this up, I have experience with people who've suffered with addictions.
Cobwebs appear around things that are neglected, they entangle and trap things, too. This could represent what a major emotion like your pride is currently going through. Maybe the stronger parts of your personality need more attention. But as it stands, they're in a sense of "decline," and these webs (the neglect) is leading you towards something negative or "evil."
Skulls are death and the decay of what once was. Like a more serious form of the cobwebs. The latter was attached to your plants, your "pride." The skull was attached to the crypt and smoking device. A crypt makes us feel like we're exploring dark, forgotten areas that hold great amounts of information to discover. So the skull was attached to a buried, almost forgotten part of yourself, which included the device.
The skull may be trying to tell you nothing positive will come of this part of yourself. And despite how "buried" or behind you may think it is, it's still able to reach all the way out of the crypt, into the best parts of yourself (its cobwebs reaching towards your plants).
That's the best of what I can make of your dream.
