      Gabapentin

I am prescribed Gabapentin for chronic pain. It's nonnarcotic but it's main side effect is drowsiness so I take it about an hour before I'm ready to go to sleep. As soon as it kicks in, it's like I die for 9 hours and resurrect in the morning. I left it at my mom's house for a couple days and I practiced my before-sleep recall techniques and I recalled a fragment for the first time in months. After I got my medicine from my mom's house and took it regularly again, I was back to a 0 recall every night since. It's not an option for me to stop the Gabapentin because of my medical problems. Maybe it's all in my head, maybe its not. It's hard to tell because of the problems I've had with recall over the past 5 years. Help please?

Sorry this is happening. I've actually had the reverse effect and I find it's easier to slip in and out of dreams several times a night.

Maybe an online search would help. I did find some discussions out there about the meds and dreaming.
