The most vivid of dreams come in the REM (Rapid Eye Movement) sleep. As the name tells, your eyes move during REM sleep. REM sleep is the nearest sleep state to actual wakefulness; your brain energy consumption is nearly equal to that of a wakeful state. Lucid dreams also happen during REM sleep; that's why scientists have been able to study lucid dreams. If you wake up during REM sleep, you are much more likely to remember the dream(s) you saw that night. |
