gonna have to give us more info than that you went "a bridge too far"

I got about half way over the bridge when I turned around, I don't remember much else except there was a crowd of people that were yelling at me to come back

I believe that this dream refers to a possible change in the direction of the dreamer’s life. The others in the dream do not want you to make this change. I recommend that you try to identify this change.

It sounds like the crossing of the bridge is symbolic of a choice that is before the dreamer. I have seen other dreams where the dreamers are getting advice from their dreams. In one dream, a woman’s dream told her not to move in with her boyfriend. Other dreamers had dreams that warned them about their political/world views or their religious beliefs.

It sounds like you should think very carefully about the direction of your life and think about listening to these dream people.

Unlike dreams of tunnels, dreams where bridges take precedence show that the dreamer is in the process of getting from one place in life to another. A bridge, therefore, is like a piece of tape connecting together two places to remove the gap between. It allows for a transitory state to take place... Rather, connecting where you are now, with where you will be when you get over it.

Walking, here, indicates that you are thinking on a matter. This is said because when we go walking, especially when we're alone, our thoughts become more pronounced.

Notice, too, that half-way into your stroll you turn around at the behest of others. This indicates that someone, or possibly a few others had a part in helping you change your mind about where you were headed.

Note: You do not mention what the ex is doing here, so, its hard to read why... but, because you do allude to an ex, here, we know a piece of your past has a part to do with this walk on the bridge. Or whatever your deeper thought is on this matter.
