      Field of view in dreams?

anyone notice how in non-lucid dreams it's kind of fuzzy at the edges and you basically focus on one object at a time? Lucidity helps some, though it's not until you become more aware or outright say "clarity/clear now" that the dream gets more realistic. Here's a drawing with saying what I mean: prntscr.com/o14yvb

So basically a photo you hold right in front of your hand can obviously become extremely realistic, and that's to be expected. But the normal dream field of view does not feel much better than both your hands held at "read a book length" in front of you. I notice that my awesome dreams tend to make the field of view wider in general, whether through the clarity of lucidity or through my emotions and enjoyment to fully put myself into the dream. Though I had two unusual outliers, one with the "realistic hotel" (I was a bit lucid for that but did not create it on purpose), it was like a half panomara view and extended all the way up, and most recently I had a dream I call "Real Midnight" where I was able to *step back* from the scene and still have it realistically created in front of me. I questioned it throughout and only became lucid with a girl whispering in my ear, as my regular "finger through palm" failed along with checking finger proportions.

The effect that you describe concurs with my experience. But I interpret it somewhat differently. For me, a dream (whether lucid or non-lucid) will be able to show anything in glorious detail, but it only shows what I attend to. In other words, it can be a very narrow view.

A WILD, which I have to consider as something separate from an ordinary lucid dream, will typically have a much larger view.

An astral projection has the same kind of view that I experience in physical reality, i.e. about 180 degrees from side to side.

The viewing angle has actually become one of my most important ways of establishing where I am: dream, WILD, or AP.
So ... is this the real universe, or is it just a preliminary study?
