      Can we read in dreams?

I could have sworn I read an article once that claimed we can't read in dreams, but I distinctly remember two I've recently had. Granted, they're not full-fledged books, more like signs and whatnot, but they were words none the less. In one, I'm with my wife, walking into our favorite fish store to buy a few hillstream loaches. I look over, and an ex girlfriend of mine is unrolling this giant t shirt in a parking lot. I was given an aerial view of the t shirt, bc that sucker was like a Godzilla-sized shirt, which said "God Doomed Himself By Making Man". I'm not sure what the heck that's even supposed to mean. Am I allowed to post that? I'm not trying to spark a religious debate; it's just bizarre, because that ex girlfriend would not be unrolling a parking lot-sized t shirt that bore a message like that.

In another one, my wife and I are back at my brother's wedding, and we're running late. When we get to the church, my brother and sister-in-law are walking out of the church. I go to apologize, and my brother informs me that we're not too late, that it's just intermission. Lol, I'm pretty sure weddings don't have intermissions. To make it even weirder, my sister-in-law informed me that they were going to Orgy Beach. I look in the direction of where she's pointing, and lo and behold, there's a "Welcome to Orgy Beach!" sign, with arrows pointing different orientations to different directions. Maybe that's the key; maybe we can't read in normal dreams, just bizarre ones, because I only remember reading when I wake up from a dream wondering what the hell's wrong with me.

It's possible to read in dreams absolutely, but at least in my experience it's more difficult than it is IRL -- it's like dyslexia cranked up to a million, words moving around and changing and stuff.

I usually don't remember what the words I managed to read were, though.

I feel I can only read street signs and things are limited to 2-3 words only. Maybe its because my mind doesn't want to sit down and fabricate the sensation of reading when I'm sleeping.

Somewhere we touched on this subject. Sometimes my reading is excellent. Other times, not so much.

I've read and written in dreams. The trouble is, letters don't want to sit still.

I think of them more as skittery. Antsy alphabets. Blink or turn your back and the letters are all like -

=How about a different language in a dream? For me, it is about the same. I'd been blind in a dream before so, I was forced to know how to read Braille. Other times, I've been deaf and sign language was a must, and being able to read and write in a dream.

It's your expectation and limitations at that time that may cause you to not be able to read.
