Lately I have engaged in so many discussions about God. WHO is he. When will Christ return, Non believers this , believe that, religious indoctrination ..

Last night as I was thinking intensely about life, death and God. I began to drift of to have some HI.
This was one of the most intense HI I have ever been through. I think quite possibly it may have entered into a dream.

What I experience was my minds attempt to reach God. I saw what seemed to be an intense array of everything!?!.
I saw all shapes sizes colors feels smells all floating around my brain. My body seemed to no longer matter. All this images began to be too much for me to comprehend and I awoke in a sweat.
wowzer.

I think you hit the nail on the head right there - the knowledge of the truth is uncomprehensible to us.
I'm reading a book on quantum physics right now and it's relationship to "magick" which is quite interesting - but it discusses all the different theories on what our reality really is. And even THAT'S difficult to comprehend at points. I go to bed with more questions than I did before reading about it.

Well Keeper I did not really find any answers. But at the same time there was something that I can't explain or put my finger on.

It is as if I could not fathom what was presented to me but I was OK with that.

Quantum physics. Good example. But different from going to bed with 100,000 questions, I seemed to have made peace in my mind with the unknowing. Like you say, incomprehensible. I was no less of a person for accepting that.

I don't think humans will ever find out about God ect. Even if we had proof there will always be that group that denies it on either side.

[EDIT] At the end of the day people will believe what they want to, you can't force some one with belief

I've had slightly similar before. I've gone to sleep, thinking about what is after death, what God is like, did I exist before life here, and etc. I never really got any vivid HI like you've mentioned, but I have these glimpses of a dream that's really unexplainable. Like I know I had it, it's just a kind of gut feeling that it was there early on in the REM (where you can't remember most dreams). And it's not like I remembered it as soon as I woke up. I'll have no memory of it all, and then randomly in the day it will just hit me, it's almost a powerful feeling. The only imagery I have is something that was like the cosmos. Purplish swirls of clouds, stars bright and dim in the background. Weird 3d see-through dimensional and maybe even possible 4d (I cannot explain this). It was like I was seeing the shape and something else at the same time. But this is pretty hazy and there was more to it. I don't know what the point of any of them were (I think had about 3 of these) or what they were trying to tell me. But they are interesting.

I think we will not understand or know what god is because we see it how we are thought to see god.

In my experience god or the creating power is totly expierienceble but it is not a power with a consiousness or a free will. It's like an electrical current that obays to sertain laws. So does "god".
No need to kneel and "pray" to it, it won't hear you. You can use it cez its all around like air. It is a silent and as "dumb" as air.
Def to our words an plees. But perfectly usable.

I don't know what you mean. Why does he need his main man Jesus on Earth to sorth things out exactly?

Your book sounds very interesting Burns. I once read a book along the same lines called "The Tao of Physics". It contrasted the Eastern mystic religions against modern physics, and explained how they talked about the same things, only using different words and examples. Pretty far out stuff, talking about virtual particles, muons, quarks, particle accelerators, buddha, shiva and all kinds of other things I only vaguely remember. Left me with a lot of questions too. I found it better for daytime reading, as going to bed with that heavy of a load on my mind was couter-productive in terms of sleeping.

The lasting impression that i did receive from the book was that the Taoist train of thought is that we are all part of one energy: the Tao. The Tao cannot be explained in words, however it is everywhere, and can be experienced. Modern astronomy and quantum physics both kinda say the same thing. Once upon a time the only element was hydrogen. Hydrogen "coagulated" into stars, stars created new elements in their ultra hot cores, stars exploded spewing elements out into space, where they "re-coagulated" into more stars, more explosions happened, planets formed, etc. Some believe that the entire mass of the universe was condensed into an area smaller than a pinhead right before THE BIG BANG. According to science, we're just a bunch of evolved hydrogen atoms. According to Eastern thought we're all part of the Tao. Sorta the same thing. I'm no religious individual, but all this works for me.

Just something to think about....

I like that.

So Jesus was just an evolved hydrogen atom. Cool. So, there you, he ain't coming back to save anyone.

This sounds very similar to what I had experienced. In some ways it seems impossible to relay to others because it is hard to take it all in and describe it to yourself.

I am guessing he what he meant was that because God is something that we as humans can not relate to that Jesus was somewhat of an interpreter for us. I think.

I'm guessing he's missing the point, like all the other Jesus freaks.

I think you are a bit premature to derive, out of that sentence that he is a Jesus freak.

Maybe, I have a feeling we'll find out fairly soon though.

My person idea of God is...
I believe there is a God, how else would all this be possible? Chance? But I won't get into that. I thought of myself as a christian, raised in a christian family, but my dad taught me things I wouldn't have known otherwise. I realized that there are so many religions out there that say they are the "only" way to God, that they can't all be right... how can the huge power of God fit into the tiny box of religion? I think "Espada" came a little close to what it might be, but I really don't know. I don't think as human we can comprehend it...

I agree Elastic, God is beyong out limited comprehension and cannot fit into the box marked religion, well said. I Pm'd you something interesting about this.
