I was on a plane and it was swerving around on the ground hitting small objects when I could somehow see from the front of the plane that we were heading straight for a building (still on the ground) then as soon as the plane slammed into it I saw from like a helicopter type of view the crash.
When you die in a dream, what type of view do you see it from or does it just go black?
I am interested in that and I am sorry if there is already a thread on that subject.

i used to die in my dreams quite regularly, most of them were of me jumping off cliffs or buildings, just before i'd hit the ground i'd wake up with a jolt and a fast heart beat.
A couple of them have been very short dreams of someone throwing something at me (a spear, rocks, shooting at me) which resulted in the same sudden waking.
The trick is, you got to realise that you're dreaming in the first place.
You got to be able to recognize it.
You got to be able to ask yourself, " Hey, man, is this a dream?"

usually when i die in dreams i usually black out and i'm instantly in another dream segment. althought, it depends on the type of death also that determines if i wake up or not. for example, strong forces of impact (ie falling out of buildings, crashing cars into buildings) does wake me up most of the time.

but usually i dont want to die so i just wake myself up, because i'm usually about to die in very painful/grotesque ways.

In one of my dreams from quite a few years ago I still clearly remember being split in half by a large sword wielding alien. I knew I should be dead but somehow I wasn't dead and was still in one piece. I don't know if that counts

I got shot and I went into a void. There is a thread on the subject (probably more than one) so if you search you might find some interesting reading.

I had times when I die and then I saw me dead. But for me really 'dieing' in a dream is just blacking out, not waking up, not seeing yourself dead, just a vivid last image and then nothing.

The first time I died in a dream was fifth grade, if I recall correctly.

The dream seemed to last maybe five seconds, but it involved a High Definition Grim Reaper pulling back his scythe, and then he cleave me. From there I woke up just in time for breakfast.

Kinda had trouble getting to sleep for a while after that...

The first time I remember dying in a dream was when (after an extremly big paranoia) someone throw me a knife wich would kill me, and I thought: "I dont want to die. I want to wake up". And I waked up, remembering perfectly the scene.

      Dreamguy,
Here's what I think about your dream. Death dreams usually mean new beginnings and overcoming obstacles with news or changes in waking life. For eg. in your dream, you are on a plane, if your plane was flying in clear blue skies etc, in real life you might expect some good news about work or studies etc. From your dream, the plane was a bit out of control, do you remember if you were flying the plane? It can make a difference in the interpretation whether it affects you more directly or whether your dream may affect someone else close to you.

I am assuming you were flying the plane, because you mention that you were in the front and can see it was about to hit a building and then "it became like a helicopter" ie. camera view, which makes me think you were lucid dreaming. You probably knew you were about to hit the building and got yourself out of that situation which is a good outcome.

Every few years I get the falling off a building or a cliff dream. I wake up breathing heavily, quite worked up but never feeling sad. It also helps to know how you felt when having the dream and afterwards. Sometimes these sorts of dreams are repetitive and it means subconsciously we are learning a lesson in waking life, alternatively, you might expect some news.

By the way, does anyone know if the dream is over when you die, or maybe you see the afterlife (if you beleive in such things), usually i wake after a death
