      a strange experience.. (with prophetic dreams?)

      The strangest thing happened to me today.. for some reason I turned off all of my alarms this morning, and I slept in a little later than usual (still made it to work on time thank god.. but I'm always getting up way earlier than I need to so I can have time to fool around on the computer or with musical instruments).
      This morning I had a pretty vivid dream.. it wasn't lucid but more vivid than some recent ones I've had (could it be because I didn't drink last night?) and in my dream, there I was on the second or third floor of a building. At that time there was a pretty big earthquake.. and everyone was freaking out. I kept normal being as though I'm somewhat used to them living on Guam for so long but after this panicked dream I woke up.

      hopped in the shower.. shoved some natto in my mouth and headed out to work.

      later in class all of my teachers told me of a huge earthquake that happened in the mainland Japan. 6.8 magnitude.. apparently at least 7 people died, buildings were flattened and more and more.. (http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/asia-pacific/6900156.stm)

      I've had prophetic dreams but nothing like this.. a strange coincidence? is it possible that we can intercept this knowledge all the time but someone in our waking consciousness we have trained ourselves to not see it?

      There were no tremors felt here in Okinawa so that is why I'm a bit curious about this..

      has anyone had any experiences with prophetic dreams on a larger scale?

      i do the whole time...and they're ALWAYS bad news...

      so you probably don't have it as strong as others but i believe all people experience it now and then


      that's why i am afraid of lucid dreams... i don't want to stop having those prophetic dreams , they're intresting

      Yeah, it seems like just a coincedence to me. We've all probably dreamed of Earthquakes before, and we've all heard of Earthquakes occuring before. It's not particularly unlikely that the two'll happen on the same day.

      Also, out of interest, did you remember this dream that much throughout the day before the Earthquake was mentioned to you?

      that isnt a cioncidence.. i had many dreams like that.. which predict the future outcome .. Dreams are here to warn us.

      Because you've had 'prophetic dreams', every other dream somebody else has which in some way relates to the future is also a 'prophetic dream'?

      That's exactly why dumb New Age beliefs don't die immediately like they should. You and your silly placebos.

      I remembered the dream before it was mentioned to me, I was in too much of a rush in the morning to write it in my journal though.. I just remembered me being on the second floor of the building and people freaking out, but when the teacher mentioned it a bunch of sensations came back to me....

      have dreamed several tornado disasters and a few airline accidents, with the dreams being identical to footage seen on TV the next day when these things had/were happening. Doesn't happen frequently, however. Never hurricane dreams or earthquakes - just planes and tornados. dunno why

      one significant dream about being in a plane in a large city, crashing into buildings...but I can't recall if that was before or after 9/11
