Falling asleep easier, remembering dreams, and changing your sleep schedule?

I am currently attempting to change my sleep schedule. I am going to sleep from 9:00pm to 2:30am. I will then stay awake for about an hour, then sleep from 3:30am to 5:45am. I need to know, how do you easily fall asleep? Also, is there anyway to remember dreams better? Last time I remembered, I can best remember my dream when I wake up naturally. No alarms or anything. Any help with any of this? Certain rituals or anything to help?

well the easiest way i have found i think anyone can tell you, is that just repeat to yourself over and over that you will remember your dream and you will wake up from your dream, make sure its the last thing you think of right before you go to asleep, i have hard time doing this but im sure with more effort i couldn i use an alarm aroudn 3:30 only because it doesn't matter how i wake up ill remember the dream somewhat anyway. just make sure you practice this method as i have tried it many times and has worked a few times when i really put my head into it. sometimes i would wake up 2 or 3 times after at night after the dreams ended, but mostly today i use my phone alarm.

If you find the answer...please tell me. haha, the only thing I can think of is to take two shots of alchohol, but I don't think alcohol is the best for dream recall.
Dreaming is forgetting the basis of reality, remembering it is to be lucid.

when the alarm goes of in the middle of your dream you might find it easier to remeber it. the are lots of ways to make it easy to fall asleep. for example get some fresh air into your room, medita before going to bed (this also make the dream recall better), imagine getting heavier and heavier all the time while counting to 10. if you don't feel confertable and feel like you have to turn around to get into a nice sleeping position, don't move. just lay there and you will fall asleep anyway.

Hello videogamer99. When it comes to falling asleep, I find these things work for me:
      1. Try to wake up early every day, even weekends. Set your alarm to the same time.
      2. Do not do anything engaging before bed. What "engages" your mind depends on you. For instance, I can watch television before bed to relax, but only certain programs (Weather Channel = sleep, X-Files = excitement).
      3. Music. Again, depending on the type of music, you can either become "engaged" or drift off and have nice daydreams. I personally can't fall asleep to music, so when I feel ready to sleep, I stop listening to music.
