      Never see self in dreams

So when I dream, I never see myself. I always like see through my eyes instead of like waching myself. How do you guys see yourselves? My friends all say that they see themselves like watching a movie almost.

Yeah, usually it is first-person for me, but I have had some where I see myself through somone els's eyes. It is sorta odd, for me it is always like looking at somone else. I never have control of myself when it is in these views, but it is always fun. ^_^ (That is how it is for ME anyway)

The easiest way, because it appeals to our sense of the logical, go find a mirror... or open a photo album.

It's not at all easy for me to, for example, float up and view myself below.. it doesn't make sense to me that I could do this, and this is despite the fact that I'm a big proponent of "nothing is impossible" in LD's. Well, while this is true, Our logical minds can still make some things damned difficult!

I usually switch back and forth often in my dreams. Part of the dream will be in first person, while the rest will switch in a third person view.

Often, when im having a nightmare and im about to get caught by whatever is chasing/scaring me, ill switch in a third person view and the character im watching will gradually change into someone else, allowing me to stay asleep because i would otherwise wake up.

I often have the third person "watching, but not being physically present" dreams and lucid dreams. There are also the "watching and physically present but aloof and non-involved" dreams.

Most common for me, I am there, in the first person, participating in the dream or lucid dream.

I'm having a hard time seeing how looking at myself from "outside the action" differs from a third-person dream where one of the DC's simply looks like me.

Seems like ripe fodder for some night-time experimentation in switching consciousness from first to third person and back, and see what I can come up with! Thanks for some fresh ideas!

      Hey Dream Weaver!

Something you might try if you've been at all successful with lucidity and control is to watch a dream character of yourself, and try to direct her words and actions.

This was a very interesting topic. I haven't really thought about it. I think most of my dreams are in first person perspective, but I reckon some dreams where I've seen myself walking or doing something from a long distance away. For example walkiing on a mountain with a bunch of native people, which was a dream I had a few years back. Thrid person views are sort of rare for me, because I can't recall seeing myself like a reflection from a mirror. I've noticed that I look differently in dreams. :p

I don't feel like reading through this topic at the moment, but I will respond anyway. The best way is practice, just like you would with anything.

      1) Have confidence, believe it will happen.
      2) Close your dream eyes, and imagine looking at your whole body standing there. Become aware of yourself from head to toe.
      3) Practice the number 2 even while awake to get used to visualizing yourself standing there.

      I wish you luck.

I have dreams from all sorts of perspectives. Usually its either first person (from my own eyes,) or third person (looking at me, sort of like I'm floating about a meter behind myself.)

I have dreams where I watch from every view at once, and where I see it from someone else's eyes, and in most dreams my perspective switches all the time.

I used to always have this dream when I was a child where I was boxing an evil version of myself.
