      I have been here before

Last night i had a dream that i was in this place and after i woke up i realized i had been there before in a previous dream. (never been there in real life)

Could this place actually exist? On the astral plane?

*shrugs* not sure. I think that's up for you to decide.

Although I have also had similiar experiences... I'll be in a dream and I will have a deja'vu sense that I had been to that same setting before in the past. Sometimes I can remember the actual dream while I am in the dream, other times it just seems so distant.

Could be, all depends on what you believe. Ever hear of Remote Viewing? Apparently it's for real and everyone has the capability. With practice it can be worked into a skill. Some people are naturaly more capable or 'open' to it than others. Maybe you're like that.

Our brains behave in a different manner when we are dreaming (or rather, our thinking does) - perhaps you are visiting this place, or 'seeing it' while you're in this dream state.

I got that last night. I woke up and remembered being in a spot I had been in in a dream 3 years ago. I remember dreams from years and years ago sometimes.

I've had dreams like that before.
I had one recently where I was in a house that I've been to in a previous dream. It was like a giant maze house, but still clearly the exact house from a previous dream.

Now it all depends on what you believe, but personally I don't see any way this revisit could mean its a real place. Its just my subconcious bringing that memory back to the forefront. Its a simple reason that makes complete sense to me. People have re-occurring themes, places and characters in dreams all the time. Doesn't mean they are real.

Describe this place you visited. Who knows, maybe someone will be familiar with this place ^^

There are a few different place people say multiple person visited on different occasion. Not that anything like that ever happened to me : p

I've had dreams where the plot unfolds in the same 'city' or place. It's a completely normal city, but it's really dirty and full of thrash. And it's got this automatic walk thing that stretches all over the city (don't know how to explain this, because I don't know what it's called. :p) It's normal to see in airports, and you just stand on it to get forward instead of walking.

Anyways, I remember this city because of the system that is always to see in my dreams about cities.

I've done this except while I was in the dream I thought to myself, "I've been here before" but when I awoke I remember that I have never had a dream that I was in that place.

I have had plenty of "false" memories in the past where I remember living somewhere or someone, or watching a movie for the second time, I always thought it was something your brain likes to do.

      ?

Yeah that happens to me very often too. In many dreams I can remember I had had adventures in the same place but when I wake up I'm sure I had imagined them all. Once I woke up from a nightmare thinking "this time I don't need to write this dream in my journal, I've seen it before and already written it". After thinking for two seconds I knew I hadn't really had that dream. Brains can make amazing false memories, even some long and big stories. It's quite interesting.

      Unhappy

I have had dreams where i go somewhere and remember being there bfore, but dont when i wake up, but i'm pretty sure its just because i can't remember the first half of the dream.

And also I have had dreams that I have completely forgotten about which i had years ago. When I wake up I remember having the dream before, but rarely the same places unless its the same dream.

And other times its a mix of the two, and i'm not sure about it.

For re occuring dreams I agree with whoever said it is the subconscious reminding us about previous dreams, that is also my opinion on it.

Although, since i started dreaming more again (well, improving my recall.) I find alot of the dreams I have I have had before. And one dream I didn't think anything of on the day I had the dream, but thinking back to it i think I had it before... False memories? I put it down to me making things up if I don't remember having the dream before as soon as I wake up.

But some dreams i have definately had before and forgotten about.
