As loud as they are, I'm pretty surprised too! I think a lot of it just has to do with being completely familiar with the songs. That's how it is for me, I can basically fall asleep to anything as long as it's something I know really well. Maybe it's the same case for you! |

Has anyone tried Gregorian Chants? They are extremely relaxing! |
|
I listen to Coldplay, Imogen Heap, The Beatles, Something Corporate, Jack's Mannequin and Jack Johnson to help me fall asleep. The Masters of Chant are also pretty cool. |
|
I think the best music for going to sleep, regardless of regular preferences, is ambient or soundscapes. |

I listen to Dust In The Wind by Kansas in my head, recalling it as best as I can while I WILD. Just felt like throwing that in there. It helps pass the time until the lights start, and the entertainment begins. |

Most of what I like to listen to is too hard to fall asleep to because it's too intense. I mean, could you honestly sleep with Metallica or Slayer or Dethklok blasting in your ear? Maybe at a very quiet volume... |

"Take atheism, for example. Not a religion? Their pseudo-dogmatic will to convert others to their system of beliefs is eerily reminiscent of the very behavior they criticize in the religious."
do you not like a different band that just for relaxing? i like alot of loud music, and when i pick through discographys for the best songs, i come across a few softer ones which i move aside. but then realising, at the time of seperating the songs, i was in the mood for harder, louder songs. but at night i realise i wanna hear something softer, thus going to the soft songs. |

I suppose there are a few Tom Petty and Jimi Hendrix songs on my list that could easily lull me to sleep, but a majority of my playlist is all hard rock and metal. |

I like to listen to Radiohead, especially In Rainbows. |

Even with that disparity, the more you listen to them, the easier it will get to fall asleep. Once you know the playlist well enough you can subconsciously anticipate when the music will become loud or aggressive, and it won't bother you anymore. |
|
I recommend Aphex Twin's ambient songs - especially albums such as Drukqs and Selected Ambient Works II |
