The Dream Quest of unknown Kadath

I have recently been reading "The Dream Quest of unknown Kadath" by H.P. Lovecraft, and it is really amazing!

It got me back into dreaming again (which is such an important aspect of human life) and it is really inspiring and horrific at the same time.

H.P. Lovecrafts work is no longer under copyright, (although people still try and claim ownership and sell his stuff) so you can get most of his work online and it is perfectly legal. Or you can go to a library ;O Anyways...

This story is amazing, do yourself a favor and read it. It's in copy and paste-able™ format if you want to print it out and read it.

If you have read it, please respond with your comments. It's a short story and not that hard to get through, just in case you think it's a long novel. the stuff is really ahead of it's time. It was written in the '30s, but it feels to me as if it was written later. Really groovy stuff guys.

      Link to story below.

Thanks for bringing this to my attention. It seems pretty well-known, but this is the first time I've heard of it (I've heard of HP Lovecraft before, but only as reference). It has a little Lewis Carroll taste to it.

On the same site as the linked story, you can find basically the complete Lovecraft Collection.

I recommend these titles (all available there):

      Call of Cthulhu

      Shadow out of Time

      The Horror at redhook

However, just wiki Cthulhu (ah I'll be nice here's the link http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cthulhu )

After reading that wiki entry you'll want to read call of Cthulhu, TRUST ME. And for further scariness after reading Call of Cthulhu, wiki "Bloop", yes just that one word.

All his work is fantastic though, he was actually the inventor of the necronomicon, ya know the one from evil dead? Yeah just look it up LOL. many of his stories feature it.

      Back on topic

The dream Quest of Unknown kadath is kinda like Alice in Wonderland, but it is a little more twisted, and is very much dream related.

The main character of the story is literally Lucid Dreaming for the entire story, he is exploring the dreamworld, if you will, trying to find a hidden city of the gods. The only people that have ever been to this city have gone mad...but he is determined to see it....
