      Highest level of vividness?

Well I can remember an average of 2 dreams per night. I've had some pretty vivid dreams and I always thought this is what people meant when they were talking about their highly vivid dreams... But the other day I had the most INTENSELY vivid dream... In my dream it was raining and I could feel everything... The coolness of the air, the water touching my skin, the feeling in my leg touching the ground as I walked... I could recall EVERY little detail - the number of clouds in the sky, the number of windows in each house it was incredible... When I woke up I felt my clothes to see if they were wet from the rain lol. I layed in bed for about 20 mins just blown away from the vividness of this dream. I have never experienced anything close to it and i've had some highly vivid dreams... So my question is have any of you ever experienced this sort of ultra vivid dream? is there a "perfect" level of vividness? Is it a really rare thing, like do the suns and moons have to align to have it??

I can't sleep. There is a woman stuck between my eyelids. I would tell her to get out if I could. But there is a woman stuck in my throat.

My best vivid dream (while lucid) was when I was looking at the forest behind my house. No trees had leaves; I felt a cool breeze; and I simply stood there almost the whole time completely obliterated that my mind created it all. It looked as if I was awake. I couldn't find an error in any of the trees' structures. The sky was blue with clouds; just amazing.

It's amazing how sharp your mind develops your dreams.

My most vivid dream ever was tonight. I freaked out a flatmate by acting strangely when I did wake up and have breakfast. It took a while to be convinced reality was real.

      ...Or is it?

Id say all dreams are different for me. Some super vivid, some not so. The super vivid ones being a little more infrequent.

The most 'vivid-feeling' dreams I've had were when I felt like I had met a kind of 'spirit guide' in a dream. Again, I read a lot of new-age hooey, so forgive me if my brain sounds soft, but I do like to beleive that guides exist.

Anyway - one such dream, I was walking with a little boy (I'm a grown woman) and he invited me on an adventure. He told me though that if I died in the dream I would die in real life. And I asked him, "Can't you protect me?" and he said, "If I did, I'd be moot."

It was weird, but at the same time, I realized I was dreaming - but wanted to be VERY careful in the dream just in case something I did affected my waking life.

I've died in dreams before, or been dismembered - and not worried about it (unpleasant, yes, but not too scary). But this dream felt different somehow, and the feeling that I knew I was dreaming made it stranger still.

(And I've wanted to meet the boy again in my dreams, but I haven't seen him since. Prankster )

For me, as opposed to saying something like, not just vivid, but supercrazyamazing vivid or even something more extreme than that whatever, for me, all of my dreams (and visualizations / imagination / daydreaming) for that matter is indistinguishable from reality. I don't think you can get any higher than literally the same quality as reality and that is what I get every time. Obviously, I am a very visual person though. English is a second language to be which is translated into visualizations so perhaps my brian is a little more in tune to the right hemisphere.
