Question:Any way to get to sleep faster?

Ya as stated above. Usually when I get in bed even if I am exhausted it takes me 10-20 minutes to fall asleep any tips on how to helpe this.

      My Problems:

Sometimes I feel like there is someone watching me and I freak out and get an adrenaline rush.

      To excited about stuff.

      To warm.

Takes me usualy longer then you, but I tend to stay awake thinking to myself, if you want to fall asleep quickly just lay in one position and don't move, and don't restrict your thoughts, just let them flow, you can even start by thinking about something random like peanut butter, and before you know it you'll be thinking about elephants, and then the circus and just keep it flowing like that and you'll start to feel all fuzzy headed.

Have you tried reverse blinking? Just close your eyes and relax your body. Breathe in normally, then exhale. On your exhale, flash your eyelids open like you are blinking in reverse. Do this for every breath in a normal, fairly deep breathing rhythm. Its an insanely easy way to put yourself into a trance state, fall asleep when your mind is racing, or relax when you are stressed out.

It sounds stupid, I know. Give it a try, even during the day it will relax you quick.

Only 10-20 minutes? That sounds pretty dang fast to me

Still, I agree with butler on the reverse blinking. Works quite well

Do you know how to read music? Get a big book of music and count rhythms. Hehe, makes you really want to sleep.

And about reverse blinking, sorry to break your placebo (if there was one), but it never works for me. It's too much work to do because it doesn't happen naturally.

      For me reading a book works out perfectly. As I read down the page and my eyes look down, I'm asleep. Too hard to go back up the page. d;

Or play Pokemon. Something about that pacing of that game drops me into a coma.

Despite my love for all things Poke.

There are a number of "good habits" that experts have established for getting quality sleep (which includes falling asleep in a timely manner). They refer to these habits as "sleep hygiene." Here's a good article on proper sleep hygiene habits:

Dang! 10-20 mins, that's pretty fast compared to me. On a school night I have to go to bed at around 10:30 and it takes me 30 mins to an hour and a half. On weekends I fall asleep pretty fast because I go to sleep around 11:30 to 12:30.

Yeah, 10-20 minutes isn't bad. If you really can't sleep, try Melatonin or L-Theamine.

Those can both be found at your local vitamin store.

Melatonin, in addition to making you sleepy, has also been speculated to increase dream vividness.

Also, Themine w/ some other amino acids is supposed to be a very good aid for achieving lucidity.

Meditate beforehand, it'll clear your mind. If you've got nothing to think about then your mind has no reason to stay awake.

It takes me about an hour to fall asleep, if i'm lucky... I try breathing through my nostrils and my mouth at the same time, It works sometimes... I find that I can't let my thoughts run wild, because I think about many things at once, and then my mind doesn't relax, and I don't fall asleep...
      Bollocks.

My favourite technique is the 61-point relaxation. It often sends me to sleep even before I'm finished with it!

That's the whole Idea. You have to really focus on it, and that's how your mind relaxes.
On LD hiatus. Probably will start again around new years.

Or, you know -- randomly throughout this year and next.

dang im jealous i wish i could fall asleep that fast!!! it varies but normally it takes me an 1hr an 30min to fall asleep! mainly i think too much, like about my plans for the next day then i get too excited about it, an end up not being able to fall asleep D; butttt i found that if i give myself like 10min to think about what i want,an after that i decide to either a. daydream until i fall asleep b.meditate until i fall asleep. and then i fall asleep within 10min! kinda sad that i had to devise a plan for myself....lol maybe itll help you fall asleep faster too! hope this helps
