Write it. The writing will improve your chances of having a DILD. It supposedly helps to get your brain in that "LD mindset." Which makes LDs more frequent.

And besides, that way you can read them later. An trust me, it's fun to read them later. Your brain comes up with some pretty cool and entertaining stuff.

Personally, I'd rather have one or two cool non-LDs, and wake up remembering them and write them down well to read later or some other time, than I would have an LD but not have my non-LD recorded.

      Call me stupid, but...

And lucids are infrequent. Think of all the writing down you are squandering by always trying to LD, but not having it work out most of the time.

I never WILD because of this, unless I think there is a good chance of both it being successful and me remembering the previous dream in addition to the new one I am about to enter (the lucid one). I DILD, usually.

(Btw when you use the term WILD, I think you are actually refering to DEILD. For the sake of my answer, I used the term WILD as well, but am referencing DEILD.)
