      Emotionally over-intense dream?

I had a dream a few nights ago about my cat, and I've been wondering about it for a while now, since it affected me very distinctly.

In the dream, I was made aware my cat had just died. On hearing this (which isn't so in the waking world - my cat's still very much alive) I ran into the room where we kept (keep) her and started crying intensely, with a strong sadness as if she was really dead, but even stronger than I'd likely react even in real life. Even a few minutes after I woke up, I had this residual despair and had to physically see the cat to calm myself.

Anyone else experienced something like this? Does it mean anything?

I can only cry in my dreams.
---o--- my DCs say I'm dreamy.

Hmmm weird. Yeah I usually experience more emotions than that, but not super-strong ones like in this dream. Maybe it signifies something?

I had a dream that my car was stolen once, and when I woke up I immediately looked out of my window to make sure it was still there.

Actually, I just posted a new thread in this section about a dream that, emotionally, has remained with me all day.

We have fewer inhibitions in dreams.

There's such a thing as emotional inhibition? I thought you felt them no matter what, even if you don't show it.
