Lucid, Prophetic...May I get your thoughts on this?

In my intro post I said that I am very new to realizing that the way I dream is actually a "thing" that is so widely studied and discussed. It's odd; I'm a pretty bright, well read person but I think I just settled into working through my dreams without ever looking into it.

Anyway, clearly I am now. Just in browsing here for a couple of days, it is clear that so many of you all are literally brilliant on this subject so I thought I would briefly describe the nature of my dreaming in general in lieu of particular dreams right now to see what you all think.

Not all, but a great deal of my lucid dreaming is about crimes being committed. I am a spectator but always from the perspective of one individual. For example, I might "see" the entire thing from the perspective of the perpetrator, a witness, or the victim. It's not happening to me, I am watching it happen. As I started to read more here, the notion of control over lucid dreams was particularly interesting to me because I have not been able to change that perspective. For example; I dreamed what later turned out to be one of the DC sniper shootings. In that dream I was "with" someone at the scene who was running from the shooting. Off I went with her down the street and then into an outbuilding in a residential yard. I was there with her, quite moved by her fear, wanting to calm her down, but so frustrated because as she was running away, I was trying so hard to get myself back to the scene where I could see what was happening, or get information, see the shooter, etc. Conversely, I once sat "with" a horrible man just watching a woman from outside her patio doors. He was under a stone staircase there. I felt like I was there with him forever while he watched her. It was terrible. He attacked and killed her and then in some sort of odd daze, he just went to a nearby field and stayed there for what felt like hours and instead of trying to see who she was or try to get her address or see if she was still alive, I had to sit there with him.

Not all of the dreams are terribly gruesome. It's not like there is a theme in any way. They are wildly different all of the time.
I do have many other lucid dreams that are not witnessing crimes.
They are long and extremely detailed dreams.
They are definitely lucid - I say that because I always know I am dreaming. I sometimes even realize I am speaking out loud. I am very careful to not get to startled and wake up.

And I don't know what other information might help, but...

      What do you all think?
      Thanks.

Hmmm, i'm new to site and stumbled onto this post which surprisingly no one added to. Could it be because of the prophetic nature of it or that it just got buried among other posts? Well here is my newb reply to you Sapphoria:
Many years ago, i listened to a radio show with Art Bell and he had a guest on talking about remote viewing (i'm pretty sure it was Ed Dames) and what he would teach his students on how to achieve it. I also seen a news video of him and his students actually performing a session in which they would concentrate on what came across their mind and draw/doodle it on paper. The pictures would be simple like type of terrain (wet, dry, grassy or mountainous) and things around area such as buildings, water towers, bridges, things like that. At the end of session they would check the sketches to the actual target that they were supposedly searching for, and see who had the best answer to the target. There's a lot more tech crap to it but i just wanted to give you an example first. Here's why:
I was all gung ho and pulled out a composition book and started doodling all over the place. Doodling whatever came to mind which was a lot of jibberish. It wasn't until i heard other episodes of that radio show which the host had on people who were willing to tell what they do to relax themselves and clear their minds in order to visualize things better. So i tried certain techniques and really understood how to clear my mind of all noise and traffic of things flashing through my head. I came home from work one morning and was completely exhausted to the point that i was almost falling asleep at the kitchen table. The house was empty and it was so quiet i couldn't wait to go to bed. As i was finishing up my food , i had the old heavy eyelids syndrome but i would see these images flash in my mind. So i got my sketch book and started doodling the best i could. Well i'm not a master artist and i remember my doodles were just awful but it was the fact that i was able to put those images, best i could, on paper that made me excited. Of the doodles that i sketched to this day the ones that stand out are what i thought/perceived:
a bunch of hooded people standing in a crowd looking at a tv screen cheering. For some reason they looked like ninjas to me so that's how i doodled them.
what looked to me like a snowy day with cars and street covered in white yet people were dressed in shorts.
There were other doodles but those 2 i remember clearly to this day. The reason is because the images after the 9/11 attack i seen what was in my sketch book. The street covered in white which i thought was snow was actually the dust/ debris from buildings. Now the "ninja" sketch, i will go to my deathbed believeing to this day that somehow there was footage leaked from another country of people, some with head coverings, cheering the fact that the incident happened. Unless i totally dreamed it up i could have sworn i seen it on one of the news channel never to be seen again.
In any case, i never told anyone about it. Why? because there is no proof that i'm telling the truth especially if its after the fact. Now lets say i uploaded my sketches to a site that dealt with remote viewing or anything else, those sketches would somewhat be legit since they were made "before" the incident not after which would make it more believable. In your case Sapphoria, i would start writing your dream experience in the dream journal on this site and if there is an incident that comes up in real life that you felt was one of your dreams the proof would be right there for everyone to see. Also i believe that you may be able to change the outcome in your dream (DC sniper) but that will not change the outcome in real life however have you ever thought to look for things in your dream (facial images, license plates, address of suspect) that you can use in "real" life to maybe thwart a situation if you truly feel some of your dreams are prophetic. Oh well, enough with my ranting, good luck Sapphoria and keep us posted.
