precognitive/prophetic lucid dreams... how can I fine tune them?

Hello all! I'm new here... came across this site randomly but seems like a place that I will enjoy!!!

So I've been lucid dreaming ever since I can ever remember dreaming... only until the past couple of years did I realize that apparently 'normal' people don't dream as vividly the way I do. When I was little I would often times confuse reality and my dream world since they are so much alike at times. Dreams about flying/levitating have been regular ever since I was young (I remember trying to convince my mother it was possible to fly and was telling her techniques I used in my dreams to get off the ground...) haha!

However, recently in the past few months my lucid dreams have been even more intense... one of my friends/spiritual guides says I have a precognitive ability and that I need to listen to my subconscious and learn to fine tune this ability. I have been having several lucid dreams that have turned out to be true or future events play out almost exactly they way they did prior to the events in my dreams. Not only that, but there seems to be much more symbolism and messages within my dreams as of recent. I had a tsunami dream a month ago, which reflected the major wave of change that I've experienced in my life; I also have been asking my subconscious to give me the answer/show me the right way in a past relationship situation and 3 nights ago I had the dream that I'd been asking for and it resolved and gave me closure on the issue. The following night I have a dream where I get excited about receiving a package addressed to me in blue ink from a man that I've been seeing for the past 2 months and I researched and found that it apparently means we will be constant in love and affection...
As for recurring dreams, I've been having one in which I have the ability of telekinesis. I have not been able to do this in a waking state, however I'm able to do this in all sorts of ways in my lucid dreams such as opening/closing doors, moving objects across the room, turning lights on/off... is this recurring dream perhaps a sign that I might have this latent ability? I really want to make more attempts at this to see if it might be possible

Anyway... I love dreaming and the adventures I have in my sleep and I really want to learn to practice and exercise more of my abilities. Are there those of you that experience precognitive/prophetic dreams as well? Are there techniques or ways of talking to my subconscious to better fine-tune these abilities?

Thanks so much for any help/guidance/advice that any of you may have

I have had dreams that were quite blatent about things that would happen in the future...not many, but a couple. It may just have been a couple flukes, or I may have dreams that could symbolically tell me things frequently. I've never taken the time to try to interpret my dreams, letalone learn how to do it properly. Perhaps I should...

hmm lemme see about this precog business...

      I had a tsunami dream a month ago, which reflected the major wave of change that I've experienced in my life;
so you've interpreted that a tsunami=change, hmm ok. and that change occured within a month? what if it was within 2-3 years? I can "profess" that you will once more have major changes in your life "sometime" - since I have supernatural abilities.

I also have been asking my subconscious to give me the answer/show me the right way in a past relationship situation and 3 nights ago I had the dream that I'd been asking for and it resolved and gave me closure on the issue. T
you gave yourself relationship advice and it panned out - sounds pretty cool, but not supernatural.

The following night I have a dream where I get excited about receiving a package addressed to me in blue ink from a man that I've been seeing for the past 2 months and I researched and found that it apparently means we will be constant in love and affection
researched where? constant for how long? since this didn't yet happen you could turn this into a self-fulfilling prophecy.. so what?

since most people here record their dreams A LOT of weird/crazy/random stuff is written down. if a few lines here and there do come true out of a single DJ what about the other 99.9% that didn't come true? the tactic seems to be "pick the stuff that matches reality as prophetic and disregard the rest"

haha sry. actually when I started reading it I became quite enthusiastic cause it started off with "I had a precognitive dream about a tsunami" - before reading "tsunami=change" I thought he predicted an actual tsunami that happened soon after the dream- that would have been cool. but even if he had, imagine the billions of people on this earth, all dreaming. tsunami's/earthquakes/mudslides/floods/tornadoes/ etc happen, while not every day, quite often. Someone somewhere probably dreamt of a tsunami today, and someone else will tomorrow. if an actual tsunami happens to occur on that day then ppl will be like "wow l33t miracle!"

I think this belongs in the Beyond Dreaming section, you might find people with more 'experience' there.

I personally do not believe in precognitive dreams. Or prophecies. Or telekinesis.

You don't need to listen to inexperienced naysayers on this particular topic. Precognitive dreaming is real. I has been part of the historic record since man has started recording them down. The ancient Sumerians, Egyptians, Babylonians, Greeks, Chinese and Indians have all been reporting precognition. It was debated by Aristotle in 350BC in his paper, "On Prophesying by Dreams" and the list goes on.

In 1927 J.W. Dunne an aeronautics engineer, brilliant thinker and visionary (invented several airplanes and other items) was having precognitive dreams, and applied scientific method to them. He started researching by recording down all his dreams as well as the dreams of others people compiling a long list of evidence and research through his life. His book entitled, "An Experiment in Time" inspired research into precognitive dreaming that has spanned until this time. Nearly %66.7 percent of the population experience this at one time or another. There have been peer-reviewed scientific journals with evidence published since 1935 but skepticism and bias in favor of "PSI" not being real has more then not damaged the fact this is real.

Let it stand, people speak out of ignorance and lack of the experience. I on the other hand have had thousands of dreams that have come true. I have affected causality by changing dreams before they came true. I still have dreams come true to this date. I have proven it time and time again to friends and family and you read my small sampling of dreams on the James Randi forum that has shown some dreams that later show relevancy to next day events. They are in MD5 Checksum tamper-proof text. (The MD5 checksum follows after the MD5 tags) so I can't ever tamper with the dream. Precognitive Dream Research - JREF Forum

And I'm just an average joe with this type of experience. I know hundreds of people who have had dreams come true. So you can listen to naysayers who basically are outside the experience loop or dig at all the research and body of evidence in favor of precognition as well as your own experiences and move forward in exploring them.

I do recommend if you want to be public about it and prove it then take the md5 checksum stance and in future context have a mobile camera device to capture pictures or videos, or news articles that coincide with dreamed of events. Md5 checksum everything to prevent the argument of tampering and it would be best if the camera had a date/time overlay that is consistent. It will never convince everybody because many people believe this is paranormal so the bias in our world against such matters is counter-productive to the research needed.

As to nurturing and developing the skill, you have to dream and allow the experience to naturally happen as it is, learn from it and keep tuning in the knowing and familiarity, you can read this article I published called, "The Anatomy of a Precognitive Dream" it has some details and ideas about how it occurs. You Are Dreaming: The Anatomy of a Precognitive Dream

Hope this helps, and to anyone else who doesn't think this is real... perhaps maybe it is for others but not you. Our historic record is full of examples.

I don't believe in it, but that doesn't mean I can't be convinced. Why don't you give me an example of a precognitive dream you had? Honestly, dreaming that somebody calls you and having this person actually call you the next day is not really strong evidence. If you see that as precognitive dreaming than I have precognitive dreams all the time, too. Dreams coming true are not the same as precognitive dreams.

And btw: using the fact that we have not experienced it as an argument is ridiculous. I haven't experienced it because it doesn't exist. I can go around saying that the flying spaghetti monster exists, and counter any argument with "oh these people haven't experienced the flying spaghetti monster, so don't listen to them"

You haven't experienced it, [precognitive dreams] that itself is not uncommon. You might have deja vu, you might have deja vu and think for a second that you may have dreamed it. (That is the start of the rabbit hole) If that continues and if/when you do link deja vu to dreamed of memory, that is far more convincing an argument then me trying to convince you otherwise.

With your argument about being ridiculous... Why listen to people not in the know? Would you invite your beer guzzling basketball buddy to teach you quantum mechanics and astrophysics when he has no idea wtf that is because he's never experienced or learned anything about it?

When you lack knowledge and experience it doesn't make you the good candidate to give advice on a topic you are ignorant on. Yes, you don't believe it. You don't experience it so why the hell would anyone want your two cents? Especially if they have the experience and have founded some degree of knowledge on the topic? I don't run into a calculus class screaming I don't believe! Now I admit precognitive dreaming is far more extenuated a topic then what we currently accept thanks to the difficult nature of the phenomena, but that doesn't excuse the fact that it does happen to some people and peer-reviewed journals and research all thought the last 80 years have provided some evidence and data that is compelling in favor of precognition.

The good news is, you may start to have your own experience with it that could over time help clarify the reality of the phenomena beyond your skepticism and uncertainty. I don't know what the catalyst is for the phenomena, I do know that until I actually experienced it and in strong waves; I would never had believed in it myself. And I would to this day be like you totally skeptical and there is no question that is why people are skeptical because they haven't yet tasted that water.

In the context of that one phone-call, keep in mind the very acute specifics...it was a ooVoo call on my computer. This is the second time this very busy Author who is currently writing two books has called me in waking reality. The first time was back in July. It was not an arranged meeting but he wanted me to attend a conference in the UK via ooVoo so saw I was on and called unknowing that I had that dream. Read all my dreams if you want and I up until this point have not dreamed of an ooVoo call with Anthony.

The good news is, I am not going to stop having precognitive dreams any time soon so hopefully I can get more compelling insights and it's going to be very tough. What would be better if you started having your own experiences with it. That is probably the best path to clearing uncertainty.

http://www.lfr.org/LfR/csl/library/HonortonFerrari.pdf - this has references for journals from 1935-1989 and the earliest journal I can find was 1888.

Here is the most recent journal I can find for 2010: The frequency of déjà vu (déjà rêve) and the effects of age, dream recall frequency and personality factors | Funkhouser | International Journal of Dream Research

So you can take my word for it, take the word of research and authors who have spoken about it dating back to 350BC or just continue to ignore all the people saying it's true.

I'm saying it's true, not through belief but through 23 years of having the experience, having friends and family confirm dreams I've told them come true... and very specific things like people dying sadly in my life, and then having them die as they did in my dream, and even happy things like my daughter. If I could honestly walk a person through all the dreams and waking events it would be eye opening for sure. The best I can do is a scattered, degraded textual impression of what once was a vividly detailed and interesting dream.

That said, remain skeptical and try to cultivate your own dreams as you are doing, maybe just throw in as you fall asleep, "I want to experience a precognitive dream, and see the future in a dream"

I never had to attenuate a focus like that as it's naturally occurring but I've read that people can affirm intent before sleep which in your case might help.

I have two blog posts on symbolic precognitive dreaming you might find that interesting also. I will do my best to try to "prove" the existence, but I make no promises as I know how difficult this is to nail and make convincing to others. I like these type of encoded precognitive dreams because once you recognize the symbolism and deconstruct them they are compelling. Literal precognition is also compelling.

You Are Dreaming: Symbolic Precognitive Dream Revisited.
You Are Dreaming: Deconstructing a Symbolic Precognitive Dream

Here's a link to the future self talking about my wife and daughter back in 1999 on google groups.
Lucid Dream I just had - alt.out-of-body | Google Groups

It's a long dream but it's in there amongst some other info. I won't argue that it isn't a compelling guess but if you follow all the trends in my dream it shows relevancy to the future both literally and in symbolism over the years. It's the best I can do to crack that window of subjectivity open a bit to others. The other dynamic is the future exists as probability and many probable futures exist so precognitive events can degrade into a gradient making some details factual and others didn't actualized due to change, the future is a probability field with many potential outcomes making the experience even more difficult to hit objectively.

Hopefully that helps, I'll keep trying to pull more evidence in the md5 checksum strategy and hopefully more and more people will do the same to help build a larger body of evidence.

What I mean about the argument is this: things like these are disputed by many sceptics, with many different arguments and other explanations for events like these happening. According to you, we should ignore any of those arguments because none of these people have experienced something like precognitive dreaming, for example. This leaves only the arguments fór precognitive dreaming, which results in an unfair discussion. If a sceptic is an expert in psychology, he might offer explanations from his field that are more likely to be true. If only the people that have experienced (or think they have experienced) something are seen as people who can give evidence, there is no room for this critique at all.

I will read up on the sources you gave me if I get the chance. I have taken the time to read your first dream, the one about the maggots, but to be honest with you, this is not convincing to me at all. You know you are having a Zimbabwean dinner party tomorrow, so you dreamt about a dinner were you were served you didn't know. I am moving soon, so I recently have dreams about moving. That's not precognitive, it's just what keep your mind occupied that sifts through in your dreams.

And as for the Deja Vu, I like to go with the neurological explanation: someone looks at something, but this image is 'saved' in the memory before the person is concious of the image. This seems more simple and logical to me, so that is what I believe as the most suitable explanations (Occam's razor)

Anyway, I am afraid we are never going to convince eachother.

I have a more coherent argument here: http://www.dreamviews.com/f11/why-it...3/#post1522114

The Deja Vu argument has been revisited, read Dr. Vernon Neppe's new research in his new trilogy on Deja experiences. How do I know any of your claims of WILD, DILD, Dreams are true, they are all anecdotal therefor according to skeptic arguments invalid as proof.

As for that party, I had no idea that someone would import these worms from Africa... in the 9 years of being with my wife... 9 years my friend this is the first time I had to eat such a food as they are not privileged in stores in Canada period. Hope that helps your uncertainty, as I said... there is always uncertainty. People will always argue around the evidence and make false claims about it and do everything but accept it face value as having precognitive fact, even if its 100% matching an event as in that ooVoo call. That is the enigma of human experience and subjective arguments.

I have a lot more, but it's better to focus on the big picture of precognition beyond my claims into all the journals and even google and read others experiences online, there are ample other examples beyond my experience belt.

i think you're on the right track thinking in personal symbolism. in my experience, dreams are intuitive (i'm using that word instead of precognitive) by telling a story that implies or parallels the real world event.

i once had a dream that an old friend and I had nothing to spend our money on in wal-mart, so we bought these die-cast model cars and once we were outside, we began to smash them. throwing them up in the air and throwing rocks at them. The next afternoon I was alarmed to be notified that my friend had been in a serious car accident the night previous (the night I had dreamt my dream)

if our dreams are telling us anything, i think it's often going to be in some sort of allegory. it's tough because boiling down the events of our dreams (as one would do in a Jungian analysis) doesn't really reveal the truth in our precognitive dreams. the meanings are more abstract.

i think for that reason we have to analyze our precognitive/intuitive dreams differently than we our normal dreams. if a dream resonates with me, and i think it might be of more important than a normal one. I investigate. I look at the symbols and characters. Was there someone I knew in the dream? How does my interaction with a dream character reflect knowledge that I might not know already ?

there was another time where I had a friend of mine who, because of classes and schoolwork, i wasn't able to see often one semester. this friend is very dear to me and i often assume protective roles over her. we're also platonic. which is important. the dream i had one night was unusual because my friend asked me to look under her skirt with the confidence that I would be helping her (somehow) and not using this request for my own pleasure.

i later found, while talking to her one day, that she had been under alot of stress and was feeling quite down - which was completely out of the blue for me, because every once and a while i saw her she seemed like the friend I had always known. It was cause for alarm for me.. and a reminder that appearances are deceiving - there is often alot more underneath than we are aware of.

so you see, this dream called attention to one person - my friend, and presented an unusual event that suggested our friendship must become closer - more intimate - to fully understand what was going on in waking life.

if your dreams are intuitive, then they should be giving you places to start.

i once had a spanish teacher who claimed to be intuitive (psychic). she told me that her church believed that intuitive knowledge was sent down from Jesus. I've come to not believe most of what she told me, but she did stress one very important thought: having intuiton is like learning to skateboard, or learning to draw. if you direct attention to that skill, focus energy on it.. then your likely to improve accuracy and have more instances of intuition. with something intangible as psychic phenomena, it might sound hard to do that and i think a little bit of it might be faith in what you do.. but overall it never seemed too hard to me. (but then again i've never gotten far with it.)

An unfortunate product of dreaming is symbolic personification of data, where we simply filter data from that state into incoherent symbolism. It could also be neurologically linked to levels of neurotransmitters released at sleep. I don't deny the hallucinatory elements that can very well come from our own brain pharmacology.

The impact of this can be seen with precognitive data that gets filtered into symbolic precognitive dreams. I try my best to prove this exists also so researchers can hone in on this area and understand the neurological implications at work. Perhaps certain inhibitors might clarify and make more coherent precognitive dreams. Hard to say with out the hard science and research.

I have had precognition ever since i was a child. I never saw the dream interpretation stuff, just these clips in deep sleep of anywhere from a 1 to 6hr block of what ends up happening exactly. But it only occurs in a 15 minute REM. I have RARELY intervened & changed many of them, i believe they are there to teach you as well, so going through the trials are essencial for you deciding to put a smidge of trust into intuition. The actual clarity of these phenomenon takes a special connection with the sleeping mind. Some model it as the unconscious, others with more diverse viewpoints call it the subconscious. The trick is to tune into yourself by becoming conscious in deep dreamless sleep. Its Called Delta Awareness. I think Indian Veda has the deepest understanding of these forces. Theyve offered the hermetic principals amongst other mathematical mechanical feets still used today. I actually have a story about a precog, where i woke up on it at 3 hours in, then the whole thing unfolded 5 days later. If you arent looking through your own eyes in the vision, then its probably some astral traveling, if that even exists. But i KNOW precognition exists 150%. I have done my own observations through the years that would require dozens of posts to explain.
I dont believe your post pertains to typical Precognition. As precognitions have not givin a correct term to what they simply call a dream. The reason being is it would be far more rediculous to call it memory when the dictionary clearly states this as an impossible equivelant. This is where your post doesnt fit in. The simple fact that dream interpretation is just backwards tales in attempt for your sleeping mind to rebuild thoughts. Precognition however requires absolutely NO interpretation. The reason it being so hard to recall is it is acheived most clearly & timeless in deeper states of sleep. You will have several dreams afterwards. MKULTRA found this sweet spot at 3 hours in during, after, or between REM states. They are for those who have chose to view, nothing short of a recorded predetermination. Or even Pre-recorded, or as a pre-memory. Science still has not defined it as of yet. This time reversed experience is unanswerable, but there is some ok theories out there. I suspect that Electromagnetic field intensity plays a key role in time/space . Quantum theory speaks of quantum particles, while who really knows about that. But anyhow, these electron particles could be passing to the Earth's outer most EM intensity & interacting with gamma pools on the moon. I believe the clockwise/counterclockwise vortexes are a good declaration in modern physics, as opposed to the old polarity model. I try to think of the EM field interacting like a candle flame when solar winds come in. This may be creating overlapping waves in consciousness, that allows for these views. This is why i also suspect moon interaction has a profound effect as well, while the suns rays reflect off the moon. So this may actually suggest to us of cosmic rays at there peak when in fullmoon or bigmoon events. But this is just my theory, as merely a temporary acceptance of possibility. I do however see this relation of duality at the beginning. A seperatism of me & the person in the dreamworld. I then found myself in a dream theme of lifes journeys & lessons. This is where i realized that the rabbit stopped & started spilling the beans. We then aligned as i realized we were one. This has improved my past memory recall emmensely. As you go through more years of experience, you attempt to interact or intervene with higher success. You realize that you are generating these characters, but the characters can allow you to access the subconscious database directly. Then you advance to the next stage & use subconscious database recall in conscious states. I found that being silly relaxes you, it makes you vibrate, but it only shows itself when you stop trying, or even in some cases like its hiding from you or didnt mean for you to see that. So what you must do is access flashbacks & face old demons in your closet & put them to rest. This will help you to realign. Many contribute bloodlines or birthdate to Psionics. Theyve even suggested the B bloodtype coming about 10,000 years ago had a remarkable metamorphosis between the Nordic/Mongolian hybrid. Presenting a adrenal gene & survivability genes turned on. These instinctual genes are still mostly unidentified, but have been observed in modern times in Infancy Post Traumatic Stress victims. These genes then switch on during the brain developmental stage. Infact it is very rare for anyone to have these sets of genes turned on. Biochemistry outlines suggestive factors of heightened senses, raised accuity. But the downfall is low cortizol levels in the brain which effect Amygdalla switching(not the case in standard PTSD). This infancy trauma can also occur in the womb as generational trauma. This locks a trauma patient in a fear or anger state. The anger that overcomes the fear is actually one step from recovery. Our society will not tolerate angry people, as THEY would rather keep you in fear & doubt. Yet anger is the final stage of healing from trauma. We live in a world of reverse psychology. This is also documented in Freemasonic study, as severe child abuse could activate what is known as the 46 & 2 DNA awakening. They apparently had a better effect with child sex abuse in girls, while administering child depersonalization & abandonment during infancy development. These are the trauma patients who go step by step of decompartmentalizing there experiences through subconscious flashback acquisition. By facing these locked doors in your mind, can awaken these peculiar sensory nodes of ancient origin hidden in our DNA. And in average cases bring us into realization of our subconscious potencial. I doubt any ameteur can maniphest new outcomes from precognition, because it took me years while having Precogs every year of my life, & now i can find my subconscious in translation more frequently. Mostly because of being wide eye'd through the whole unexplained human experience.
