This is nothing more than an old wives' tale.

Dreams are based on events that happen in your day, in your life. Thoughts that you're dwelling on as you drift off to sleep, thoughts that you push into the back of your mind during the day. The brain organizes thoughts and memories, files them in the appropriate mental folders, so to speak, during REM sleep. Dreams are an abstract representation of this process, formed of schema taught by life experiences.

If you're dreaming about deaths, it could be related to any number of possible things, thought processes; the desire to shed a mental burden; a recent change in employment; a recent loss of some sort being abstracted; even a clip of a TV show that you caught a week ago and don't even consciously remember!

Take it for what it is: a dream, and only a dream. We can learn important things from our dreams, but remember that dreams are limited to your own knowledge, whether conscious or subconscious. Portents of death in dreams are pretty much pure superstition.

      Just my two cents worth.
