Well it wasn't that I actually "wanted" to drink beer and take Melatonin at the same time. Here's what actually happened...

I went to the store and bought some Melatonin, thinking to myself I'll try it out tonight.

A few friends came over and brought some brews, so I wasn't even thinking about what I was going to do (or what I was going to take) when bedtime came.

So by the end of the night I already had a few beers, with my head a little loose I remembered about the melatonin I planned to take earlier in the day.

Then I just took 4 pills.

It wasn't planned to take both and see what would happen.

Hey dude, now that I have taken melatonin for a little longer than a week. I can say that all it has done is increase my recall a tad bit better, and gives me some weird dreams.

I don't know how your recall is, but if it's good then it could benefit you. If you don't even have a dream journal then it probably won't do you any good.

Have you heard of "The Power of Supplements" by Thomas Yuschak ? It's a good book, research it. It talks about a wide range of supplements to take to induce lucid dreaming.

He talks about Melatonin, Galantamine, 5HTP, Choline, Nicotine etc..I have been reading it and it's a very good book. I highly recommend it.

      Goodluck dude.

Yeah i usually have good dream recall, and i think that melatonin definately helped with that. But the lucidness just isnt coming, its getting frustrating. I keep reading that you are almost required to have a dream journal to attain lucidity, i didnt believe this at first but maybe its true.

Well, if you have naturally good recall then it may not be necessary. The point for a dream journal is for 2 reasons:

      1) of course is so you can remember your dreams

      2) So you can tell your brain, that your dreams are important

By constantly updating your dream journal, your doing just that. Which in turn helps with your lucid attempts. It's a daily habit that is really helpful.

      But for each his own.

      goodluck!
