      Dream Recall (help)

      Basic back story.

A few years ago, while I was having a lot of issues sleeping due to recurring dreams reflecting guilt I felt, a friend suggested I try lucid dreaming to take control and finally sleep. This was a few years ago and I don't remember anything technique wise, but the end result was either I don't dream or I have absolutely no recall.

Now the few dreams I do remember are the same thing, negative things on my mind when I go to sleep and this is very rare.

After conversations with my bf, I've decided to try again (thoughts were already there, he just pushed a lot) and he got me to sign up here. Problem is, nearly everything I've read on here relies on some form of recall. Most places say keeping a DJ and trying to get as much detail as possible helps, but where to you start if you are at 0?

You could try autosuggestion throughout the day and before you fall asleep to let your subconscious know that this is a priority, if you can sleep in then waking yourself up after 5 hours of sleep with an alarm and every hour after that can help because you will wake up straight from the dream instead of having that time to forget it. I find my recall sucks on days where I have something that I have to wake up for as I don't think of my dream and the memory goes really fast so try and think of dreaming as soon as you get up. You could also try subliminal messages to again, influence your subconscious. If you do these then you should be able to start remembering some dreams and you can work up from there with a dream journal.

I started telling myself that I WILL remember my dreams every night before bed. Also, upon waking, I would hold as still as possible. Getting a full 8 hours (or as close as possible) is also a good idea, as the majority of dreaming occurs in the last two hours of sleep. When you get up, record everything you can remember from your dreams...and I do mean everything. Even if all you have is a fragment or two, jot them down.

I had the same problem last night. Are you supposed to remember everything, or at leat something each night, or is it common to completely forget a night or two every once in a while?

Start with keeping a DJ. Attempt to recall your dreams at night. Just by the mindset that you will remember it and attempting to and logging them, you will recall much more often.

I Know you better then anyone else here RedHead.

      Your technique: WILD.

      Go now, Grasshopper...

      Background for you guys:

EASILY sees Visualisations and HH... (Lucky Bitch! ).

Her sleep pattern is very random ATM: 3 hours sometimes.... 0 hours others... 18 hours others... Interesting.

      My Ideas for you:

      1) read up on wild and keep practicing. sure if you put the effort into a WBTB, you can do it.

Hell, when you come over, I don't mind if you wake me for a WBTB... I should be practicing too.

      2) Probe your sleep schedual. Try and find the "Sweet spot" for dreaming. Mine is about 8 and a half hours.

      3) Experiment. Many times I have tried to WILD... It's an amazing journey.

      4) I am now your official adopter. You come to me now with your ideas and stories and I'll help you out. I can TEACH Wild... Can't Do it yet however XD
