If you want to remember your dreams, you should make that your objective. By telling yourself " I will remember my dreams when I'm awake" or make up your own similar mantra. Just say that in your head while going to sleep at night, and make it your intention to remember.
Then when you awake at night/morning, try to lay still (staying in your bed and in your sleep environment helps to you remembering your dreams, try not to think of the days plans and concerns, this makes you forget faster).
Next ask yourself " what was I just dreaming" this will help enable you to catch your last dream memory. Try to focus your intentions on just that. Ask yourself questions like " what was I just thinking, what was I just doing, how did I just feel, if you can remember any visionary details..." Doing this will bring back ideas that will remind you of your last dream. Also works during the day, where a simple object or idea will bring back a whole dream into your memory again. I like to call these "Oh yeah" moments.
We seem to have a mechanism in our brain which works to erase dreams. Everyone has dreams though, they just simply can't remember and hadn't put in the effort.
