Thread: Thunderstorms in Dreams?

Has anyone experienced any thunderstorms or severe thunderstorm warnings in dreams? I had a dream last night where I was at some event for tourists and stuff and in the dream and some lady was showing me how to do something out side, Then the sky was turning black. I saw a funnel cloud a mile away. Everyone got in their cars and evacuated. Some people took shelter. Some of us got in a mobile home, I don't know why though because mobile homes are a bad shelter for Twisters. But since that was the only thing out side where we could get in. It was in the middle of no where where the event was being held.

When everyone was running in trying to seek shelter the tornado came. Everyone was trying to get into tight places to keep their self's safe. The tornado came and damaged everything. We were all inside of the twister.

Then before you know it. I woke up with a false awakening. I got out of bed and felt really sweaty. I went to the computer to check weather.com to see if there are any storm warnings for us. When I got to the site I saw pictures of funnel clouds, rain, etc. And I saw my dad getting out of the shower which is what I find weird. He said. What are you doing? And I told him I just had a fucked up dream. And he told me well your dreaming right now. And I woke up.

Has anyone experienced anything like these before? I would use to dream of bad storms and tornado warnings. I used to dream about water spouts when I was little. I really dislike these types of dreams. Have you experienced this before?

It's a dream with a theme, nothing out of the ordinary. There is nothing special about thunderstorms, if that's what you're asking.

Yeah, twice. I don't remember exactly seeing lightning, but yeah...it's perfectly normal.

I've had dreams of natural disasters, a couple of days ago I had a dream I was in Florida, Disney Land, and there were suddenly these huge tidal waves, freaking huge, taller than buildings. We all had to grab on tightly to lamp posts, they just kept coming, then we ran into this restaurant/hotel that was built especially years ago to withstand the waves, it was like a tower. But this woman said we couldn't stay there, so we ran up the stairs and hid in the rooms anyway.
I've had dreams where there's been a volcano erruption and we have to pack our stuff together really quickly and try to get away.
A few years ago I had a disturbing dream that had a storm in it- everywhere was flooded, these huge horses were walking through the water then suddenly a bolt of lighting hit the water and electrocuted the horses and they all died.
So to answer yourr question I haven't had that many dreams on storms, but a few on volcanos and tsunamies

Yes, I had a re-occuring nightmare when I was a child. I grew up in the Midwest USA, always had this tornado dream that I was out in a field or on a road riding my bicycle. I was somehow held back from running way or fleeing the storms. There would be at least 6 or 10 tornados that I could see. Once I figured out that this dream was happening over and over, I realized I could just sit back and watch, quit trying to run, nothing ever happend.

Yeah, weather anomolies used to be a big dreamsign for me. I used to have dreams with hail falling or really strong winds. I had one dream where a tornado dropped down across the street from my school. We were all running, i ran out of an exit in the opposite direction. A tornado dropped right in front of me in the parking lot. Luckily, i became lucid. After becoming lucid, i jumped into the tornado. Inside the tornado, there was an electric motor about the size of a washing machine in there. The motor was what was making the tornado spin. So if you have anymore dreams with tornadoes, you should try jumping into one. You might not find an electric motor inside, but it was one of the most awesome lucids i've ever had. Hovering inside of a tornado is such a rush.

I also had a dream (<-- read here) last night about tornados. Weird, eh? Don't know what they mean, but yeah, storm dreams happen sometimes.
