Dream of killing people :-(

Hi, just lately I'm having the most angry, violent dreams. I'm a really peaceful person and wouldn't hurt a fly but just lately I'm dreaming that I'm so angry, I'm yelling at people in my sleep and wake my family up, I'm dreaming about bludgeoning people to death with such anger and feel total power when I'm doing it. Its always me being violent to someone else and I just can't control my anger in these dreams. Why am I dreaming these things...its driving me crazy! I wake up exhausted each morning.

This is probably your subconscious's way of venting. Since you are a peaceful, nonviolent person in real life, it is likely that you don't express your anger towards others very well. These dreams might be a way of unbottling the tension of any suppressed anger you have in waking life.

Thanks Hazel, I had dreams again last night and woke up in a cold sweat. I was glad to find your reply, it made me feel a bit better about myself. I have a few issues going on at the moment. Maybe I should take steps to sort things out. Thanks again for your words. Julie

I experience similiar dreams, sometimes featuring 'cannibalism' - well, for example my dead enemies turned into 'chocolate mummies' so only kind of... And I wouldn't consider myself a violent person either.

According to Jung, dreams are an unconscious equilibriating mechanism. They help balance out our 'psychic energies'. I think there's probably something to this idea.

You think thats bad, I regularly have dreams of people slowly burning. You can see their faces melt as they scream. Its truly terrible. Not entirely sure why I'm dreaming such content.

Strange, all my dreams are peaceful and kinda almost psychedelic, shiny giant mushrooms and stuff. In a way it seems sad to kill in dreams ;-;

i know what you mean

maybe theres a reason though? one time i dreamed for 3 nights of nothing but my family members dying in gory ways...getting blown up, burning alive, getting impaled.in some of them i killed them. it was horrible

on the third day my bunny died and from that night on i stopped having death dreams... i only get death dreams right before someone or something close to me dies. so maybe for you its means something too?

If you don't get angry in WL, then maybe expressing your anger when you are angry could stop these dreams. It's never good to bottle an emotion up. There's just gonna be a bigger boom later when you release it all, so as soon as you're angry acknowledge it and express it.

I am sorry to heat your dream skydreamer. I face something totally different dreams and those are someone is killing me. I couldn't see the face or nothing but just the hands. The killing was so horrible that I can't ever explain you what exactly the dream was.
Regarding parents and relative I had seen those dream once as you said but it was not me who kill them but due to natural calamities. I am only one who leave and no other people are alive around. I don't know when I will stop watching such a horrible dreams.
