LD recall vs. regular dream recall

I'm noticing that I have really good recall for details when I have regular dreams but that when I wake up from an LD it seems to fade more quickly. The only theory I can think of is that in LDs I'm usually more immersed in the act of exploring and observing the dream world (I haven't gotten to a point yet where I have complete god-like control over them) and so there are less "plot-points" to recall and write down, whereas in regular dreams I'm caught up in crazy abstract bizarre plots that have lots of strange details. What is everyone else's experience with recalling LDs vs. regular dreams?

I can recall lucid dreams TONS better than most normal dreams. This is because I wake myself up as soon as they end, and remember and reflect on all that has happened in the dream during the dream. The ability of conscious remembrance isn't possible in a non-lucid.

My memorable non-lucids often involve an exotic place or an extreme situation. Not some twenty minutes of mundane randomness. I usually wake up directly from these dreams, too.

I know what you mean, Sluggo. If I have a short lucid, and I wake up excited about it, my recall is fine. But if I have a long lucid, or two in a row, when I wake up I can remember the things that I was trying to do, but a lot of the peripheral details seem to get lost. It's kind of catch-22, because a few times I've woken myself up because I don't want to forget about something that happened, but then I'm mad because I woke myself up out of a lucid.

About 90% of the dreams I remember were lucid.
It might have to do with the habit to wake myself up when I really want to write down some notes, just to be sure that I won't forget. I think, it is likely that I had many lucid dreams which I just don't remember also.
I didn't ever regretted waking up myself by the way.

That's quite odd Sluggo cuz from my experience I am 10x more likely to remember a lucid dream than a non-lucid dream, just goes to show that everyone is different eh?

That's been pretty much my experience as well.

I also that think I remember my lucids so much better do to the fact that I WILD and I enter the dream consciously.

Usually, my regular dreams recall is quite good (2 to 3 dreams a night), but it's usually without great detail.
But LD recall I can remember every single thing, hehe.
