      Weird experience

Yeah, basically I had a whole bunch of lucid dreams this morning, and I am completely unable to tell which were lucid dreams, which were real life and which were just my imagination.

The other day I slept on the couch and slept in, and I was disturbed by the TV and people very often between about 8 and 10 in the morning, which braught on a lucid dream and two false awakenings. I tried it again this morning and I had probably at least 5 LDs, in a very complicated way. I would realise that i am constantly waking up, and i would let myself slip in and out of a very shallow sleep often without losing consciousness. Some of them weren't even dreams, just my imagination, but a lot were and it was quite amazing - I have only had 3 LDs before today.

I guess what I am suggesting at is something like BWGen (if that even works) or just mp3's to wake you up to that level on a regular basis over an hour or so after 6-8 hours to try and emulate what happened this morning.

Has anyone had an idea like this/tried it out? This morning could have just been a fluke.

Sorry if this is supposed to be on another forum, but i couldn't decide between "Newbie Zone" and "Attaining Lucidity"

Well, I havent tried that specifically out - but when people are waking me up on/off during the morning I generally have lots of very vivid dreams. False awakenings seem to happen a lot too (maybe just because you're expecting subconciously to be awake any second now), I also find it easy to WILD in this situation (since I'm passing out in seconds anyway). But yeah, it sounds just like naptime lucidity.

If you ever sleep with anyone else in the bed, get them to prod you awake every 30 minutes from an early time (My girlfriend wakes up eeeearly so it works out). Annoying as hell if you want to sleep, but good for dreams!

Does anyone know of any programs that you can set to play mp3's at a certain time for a certain length of time?

Thats very interesting.. you are one of the few here on the forums that have mastered an almost natural form of WILD. I myself have the same type of way to get very good lucid dreams.. however I find doing that in the day or late morning causes me to have shallow LDs.. if I do it EARLY in the morning (like 1-2am..) the LDs are very deep and complex, with high realism.

After getting a good 6 hours of sleep, it's much easier to lucid dream. Part of the reason is that our REM periods last longer the longer we sleep, and have reached a significant lenght by then. It also helps that we are rested, though still calm and sleepy, making it easier to get back to sleep, but keep your mind awake. When awakening often, I would guess we have a better chance of LD'ing because we have more chances to fall asleep consciously.

cynical_bob, you may want to check out this thread for something to time mp3's with. If that doesn't suit your needs, I think you could probably write a simple program that has you input an amount of time, and then plays a file after that amount of time. If you need info on that, I could probably get something from my computer-whiz brother.
Well life is short, so love the one ya' got, 'cause you might get run over or you might get shot.

You can set your computer to play songs at different times. You should get Winamp if you want to do that. It plays things at a certain time and shuts off at another time of your choice. It is free too.

Like Scruffy said get a lot of sleep. I would recommend more like 8-10 hours. You may not be able to get that much because of life, but it would really help you out.

Well, I do think I have much more control than the normal 45min WBTB then WILD in the middle of the night, and the only real problem I had that morning was that half the time I didn't know whether I was awake or still dreaming, as most of the LDs started with a false awakening...

After about an hour of the broken sleep you kind of get an eerie control over slipping into your dream - I have never experienced that before. Definately going to try it next day off.

Yume, I have winamp... how do you set it to play at certain times? I never knew it could do that.

Thanks for the MP3 thread, Scruffy, I will have to have a look at that when I have more time on my hands

      Thanks.

I'm not a believer in the fact you need 8 hours of sleep to really LD.. sure they'll probably happen more.. but they will suck, and be way to easy to wake up from.

If you can, try with 4-5 hours of sleep... most of the people on the forums think this is way too early.. but I assure you, my deepest LDs have been pulled off during this time.. ones that last for hours, and are not easilly shaken.
