Recurring lucid dream i keep having..what does it mean?

Usually when i'm in a dream and something seems out of the ordinary i'll pinch myself to see if im awake or not. If it doesn't hurt i automatically know its a dream and i wake myself up. However, these past few days, i'll wake up in my room like usual but im still in my dream.
For example, last night i was having a nightmare when all of a sudden i realized i was dreaming so i tried to wake up. I woke up in my room as if it was real life except i was still dreaming and i knew i was still dreaming. So i walked around my room, throwing stuff around making a mess and tried closing my eyes tightly, but all that happens is i wake up in my bed still in a dream, back where i started, everything perfectly in order again. Also, i really have no control over anything, i just know that im dreaming. This happens about 5 or 6 times before i actually wake up and i have to keep pinching myself every time it restarts because it looks so real. I was just wondering if anyone can tell me why this is happening and if theres anyway to make it stop... or at least something that will actually wake me up. its been almost two weeks now that this is happening

It's called a false awakening, yell out "THIS IS MY DREAM", then your subconscience should stop annoying the heck outta you, but don't try to wake up, don't waste a perfectly good LD.

I see that you just joined and that this is your first post. Most of us here would never think of trying to wake ourselves out of a false awakening like you are having. Especially if there is nothing really scary going on. Next time it happens just remember that you are in control and that with some practice you can do almost anything. Try flying around the room for a change. Or try telekinesis. Or try flying out the window and having an adventure. It's all very possible. You just have to believe it. Lucid dreams can allow us to do pretty much anything we can imagine.

Try reading some of the threads about what people are able to do in their lucid dreams. The task of the month/year threads are good and there are many others.

In the eyes of many of us here, you are being given a golden opportunity. Do some research and learn how to use it! Don't throw it away!
